Thread: Do certain resources maintain certain characteristics?

Does the type of resource have any affect on that resource's properties? For example, in real life copper has better conductivity than aluminum. So do copper resources tend to have better conductivities than aluminum resources in the game? Is there anything like this in the game?

Yep. Different resources have different min/max "caps" on stats. So Copper tends to have better conductivity than aluminum. Steel tends to have better DR than copper. And even within sub-categories, different types of copper have different ranges (platinite copper has better conductivity than desh copper)
You can see a list of stat caps here:
A player took the historical data from swgcraft to figure out where each class of resources fell within a min/max range for all it's stats. If a particular resource / stat combination isn't listed, then it has a full 1 - 1000 range.
