I have been Master Artisan for several months and was attempting to make my living with only that! However, it seems that I need to specialize in an elite crafter profession to make a decent living (I need to support my crazy credit spending Jedi/Master Pilot)!

So, what would the best profession be to earn the most credits and use the least amount of resources? What have your experiences been?

Thanks in advance...

Raking in the credits and not having to bother much about resoruces is not really going to work for you, I'm afraid. Servers tend to be cash soaked so many people can afford the best, biggest, most uberest widgets possible - which means you need to know your shizzle as an Armorsmith, Weaponsmith and Shipwright is even worse with space resources, fussy ground resources and no factory support.

Chef, imho, is pretty crap post CU.. not a slam on chefs but the days of a gazilion credits per bottle of brandy are gone and the resource reqirements are still pretty stiff.

Droid Engineer is kind of resource fussy but not so bad - however, the market for droids has pretty much been limited to Jedi hunters. Tailor is even less resource fussy - being pretty easy to maintain your resources in but it's very difficult to make lots of money. Some folks do and do it well - but its a serious commitment to lots of stock, variety and the ability to drop everything and work for three hours with a customer who eventually decides they just want black after all.

Architect is pretty middle of the road. Your resources are not terribly exotic, but do require a little finaegling to be able to produce the architect cash cow - harvesters. Money is reasonable to make, furniture is a steady if cheap seller, can be factory created and interior decorating is easy enough to get into and schedule around your other activities.

Your mileage may vary but I'd suggest Architect best meets your criteria.

Having said that - without a commitment to the actual craft (rather than just max credits for the least effort) it's also been my experience that you'll be heartily sick of it and out of the profession in three months. Some find a love for crafting after taking it up just for a lark - but most do not. So make sure that whatever you do, you do because you love it. The rewards to being able to finally locate uber siliclastic ore and offer the best advanced blasters the planet has ever seen are not just financial but a real sense of self satisfaction.
