Thread: Help, Stuck Sampling

Ok, I met a new player today that started as Artisan. Apparently they are stuch sampling. She can't survey, it gives the message that she can't survey while sampling. I told her to type /sample....it does nothing. Told her to try /dump...to no evail either. She logged, resterted puter...no good. I told her she may have to wait till server reset. Any ideas??

Update. Spoke with CSR and he said to go to install folder and delete your profile folder. Hope it works.

This has happened to me when I sample on a vehicle. Usually I stop sampling by standing up, but obviously you aren't kneeling when you're riding a swoop. I've found that I can kneel and stand up and it stops sampling. I would only do the profile folder deletion as a last resort.

Just to update everyone, she deleted the profile folder and sure enough it worked 
This was a last resort, as she couldn't kneel, survey, dump, or anything. Just glad it is fixed...hate to see newer players get into crap like that. First impressions are a one shot thing

When I had this problem from sampling on a vehicle, I would just fly my vehicle over some water and wait. Since you can't sample over water, as soon as then next cycle hit it would say that I had stopped sampling. I am not sure if it would have worked in this situation, but if anyone gets stuck sampling on a vehicle, that always seems to work for me.

hmm.. I have never had a problem sampling over water. works fine for me.

Fixes I know of:
1: logout for 30 min or more
2: delete profile directory (means u have to re-setup all settings including macros)
3: If it is actually still sampling, then moving around should end sample.
