Hi all, First post here.

I am having issues getting surveying experience. I have 1000 and I have surveying 1. After getting this skill each time I survey or sample for resources I am supposed to get experience I believe. However I have not got any more experience surveying or sampling at all and I am now stuck at 1000. I get screen messages saying I am awarded exp. but after checking the skills box I see no increase.

Am I doing anything wrong ? Am I bugged ? Has anyone had any other issues accruing sampling / surveying experience ?

Did you train Survey I or is the skill bar just filled up? They capped the amount of "extra" exp you can get on top of a skill to keep people from loading up exp and buying everything at once. Only reason I can think it stopped at 1000 is that Surveying I may be full and not trained, so it won't let you go past that cap until you train it. This could especially be true as surveying exp can't be used towards any other skill.

If it IS trained, and not just a full green bar on your skills screen, then I'd imagine something is buggy.

I am also having the same problem with surveying experience. I've sent a tech help request in game, but havent heard anything yet. If any one does know how to fix this, please tell me. I'm really annoyed that i cant get past Surveying 1.

Is suspect that you need to complete the training on Surverying I. Just because you accumulated enough experience to reach Surveying I, doesn't mean you get it. You have to visit and Artisan trainer, or have another Artisan actually train you to be awarded Surveying I.

You do not automatically get the skill when you fill up the experience bar. When it is full, you are able to be trained. Get the training, and you will be able to get more exp. You can get the training from a NPC trainer, or another PC who has the skill.

Everyone has answered this already but just as a side note: It is best to get trained by another player, most people will train you for free because they get apprentice exp for training you. I haven't spent a single credit on training yet, although i admit i haven't left the base Artisan skill set. Still, i thought that bit of advice might save you some cash, just go to a town and find the public crafting stations and ask "can someone train me in <insert skill here>", usually you won't have a problem getting someone to train you, have fun!

I finally maxed out surveying... and still I am not getting the results I was hoping for...

Im only getting like 5 units or so per sample in an 80% saturated area...

I was hoping it would jump to like 20 or something.

Stupid surveying... I need harvestors!
