Raise mission wages.

The entire economy is based on (how many people are doing missions)*(average mission wage). And after purchasing weapons, there is little or nocredits left over for armor. And afterarmor there is absolutely nocredits left over for food-clothes-spices-houses.

Im sure the weaponsmiths are happy, but eventually I'd like to buy some food, good clothes, and maybe get a house maybe.
