1) Is stats on resources random or is there a pattern? For example copper having (generally) higher conductivity etc? It would be good to know so I don't have to survey/sampling all resources (i.e. on new resources that you don't know anything about)

2) Does terrain affect the probability of high rate of resources and does it affect which kind of resources you find? For example higher concentration in mountains.

3) What affects resource shift? Is it at a fixed time, if X units of a certain resource have been mined, random or what?

4) Does mining on a certain spot lower how much resources there are at that location?

Each individual metal (e.g. copper, iron, steel) is made up of individual types (e.g. Eciv, Gowate, etc.) that have unique characteristics. For example, there are times that I've found an iron that his higher conductivity and overall quality than copper. Bottom line... You have to evaluate each individual metal for its properties. When a new rotation of minerals appears on my planet, I survey and sample each and look at the stats.

Not from my experience. It seems they shift around to different areas. I've found good veins in the mountains and in the plains. Maybe someone else has noticed a pattern that I have not.

On Bloodfin, it appears to be a fixed time. They appear, pretty much en masse. Then you have them for about 5-6 days. Then one by one they start to disappear over about another 5 days. A new group then appears. Then you have about 12-24 hours when you can't sample them (get a resource density too low message no matter what % you are sitting on).

4) Does mining on a certain spot lower how much resources there are at that location?

This is a good question. I'm not really sure. Subjectively, I would say that if it does I have only noticed it to be slight. I pull up roughly the same amount of resource from my copper harvestor today as I did on the day I pulled it up. There may have been aslight decrease. The other thing that I am not sure of is does heavy mining of a resource make it an earlier candidate for rotation off the planet. Some thing stay most of the 10 days, some go early. Not sure what causes something to go early. Maybe others can shed some light on this.
