Why does my harvesters mysteriously shut themselves off when I am not around?

Have you check the amount of power that is supplied to it? Also, the upkeep needs to be paid or the harvester will shut down and need repairs.

well if they run out of power or maintnence they auto shut off. there was something in the patch notes about an exploit where others could turn on or off a harvester but dont know what it entails... I hope they are talking about an exploit where non admins could togle the harvesters and not other admins. my guildies and I often add each other to the admin list on our harvesters so we can manage each others harvs if theres a need to. I hope they are going to still alow people on the admin list to turn the harvs on and off even if they arnt the owner.

To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead

Full maintenance and power.

It's happened to me twice. Its gotta be an exploit.

I would understand if others of an opposing faction would be able to do this, but nothing of that sort has been said in the guides.

Man! I sure hope they're still on tonight.

Don't they also turn off if there's a resource shift? Like, the concentration of what it's mining drops to zero?

I remember going to awaypoint (formerly) for extrusive ore, and didn't learn it had moved until I got there.. anyway, you should have seen all the stopped harvesters when I got there...

Check out the update posted today, it addresses an issue where people could turn on and off harvesters that didn't belong to them.

It was likely an opposing faction member.

The same thing has happened to me at least four times. The harvestors are full (over 1k of power) and have nearly a week of maintenance paid on them but shut off for no reason at all. I can't tell you how mad that makes me... it sat there for 16 hours, while I was at work, supposedly mining stuff for me and when I log on, it maybe extracted 100 units before it shut off.

I figured maybe it was something I did wrong... I'm glad to find out I'm not crazy!

Power seems fine, but the other extracters seem to shut off when certain things are done with the servers. Mine shut off after a small update today.

I have the very same Problem:

- Harvesters have full power
- Have mainetenance
- There was no res shift (can be seen that the res is still set)
- the Hopper is EMPTY

If there was not the last thing, I would say, ok it switched off because of a server down - but then it must have switched off directly after I emptied my hopper...

And this is VERY improbable....

Note: It does not happen yesterday night after the patch to all my harvesters, but to some of them.

2 were Wind Generators...

I belive it is an exploit. I will let a samll sampl eof Res left in my hopper on my next run to check. If the hoppers are empty again, I will know...

Have you noticed that really goofy stuff happens to the resources when a server update happens? I'm thinking that on a server reboot, the resources are being wiped clean and refreshed, and then the newer ones are then restored to the server from some kind of backup system to keep riots from happening. Perhaps the resource harvested is actually gone for a brief period. So instead of a smooth gradual turnover of resources, we occasionally get massive resource shift, were everything except the very newest ones go away.It looks to me like before a planned reboot, resources are backed up if they are newer than x days, and the rest thrown away.

There was an exploit going around that allowed people that didn't own a harvester to shut it off. This was fixed in yesterday's patch.

Someone turned off 5 MMI's of mine 2 minutes after I turned them on. Yesterday evening instead of having 15,000 steel, I had 26.

I almost through my SWG CD out the window into traffic.

GRRRRRR....

I /csr'd it, but have no response yet.
