I am a marksman on my way to smuggler, but I want to master the buisness skill set on the the artisan skill tree. Just the buisness skill set so I can place a vendor in my home.

I have no idea how to gain xp. I started crafting basic items with my crafting tools but got no xp.

How do I get xp? What do I need to do?

How long does it usually take to get to the top of the Buisness skill tree?

Sorry for all the questions, but I am really kind of lost here.

I would say that your best bet is to find a good source for grain, about 75% or better, and start surveying, then make bofa treats until you can learn Engineering 1. Get it trained from a PC, so its free, then gather around 1k of metal and 1k of chemical. Then find a good spot and start grinding. I have 4 general crafting tools that i used to grind XP. You need 10500 total general crafting XP to totally master the Business path. When grinding, just make Grips. They are listed under General Items, and they use minimal resources, but give you roughly 40 XP per unit produced. Use your crafting tools in succession, so that you are constantly crafting, and you shoudl be able to hit 10500 in no time. Also, just a tip, when crafting, eventually your inventory gets full, and it will say that you are unable to open the Crafting Menu, you need to go into your inventory and manually delete all the grips, and then manually click and hold on teh crafting tools until the radial menu appears. Then hover the mouse over the Start Crafting, and another little menu will branch above it that says "Get Prototype item" or something like that. CLick on that, and the you will be able to use the crafting tool again.

Happy Crafting.

Hey i am currently grinding for my expert rifle skill, heres waht i have been doing

I am playing on Tyrena, Corellia.....i can kill dunbirs, butterflies, and paralopes without too much trouble......they give me about 100 xp each (to be simple).........lets say it takes me 30 secs to kill one, which prob isn't true, but i'll add the time this way to count for resting periods......now what that means is that i make 200 xp per min, and that i can make 12000 rifle xp per hour? Is this a good way? I've found some pretty good lairs with some nice spawning rates, and i just camp and hang around there.......

I'm currently using a rifle made by thoax that was a gift from a friend.......the dmg is pretty nice, up in the hundred (100-130?), the firing rate isn't too great either.....but i feel like the rifle is more than whati need, and a truly excellent weapon......

Any suggestions would be good, I'm a really big noob to Galaxies, and I'm not sure about the effectiveness of this grind........but the numbers are pretty good, even if it takes me 1 min to kill one of those creatures i still make about 6000 xp per hour, which isn't too bad considering i need about the 15000 xp to pass expert rifleman......any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated........

I'd be willing to pay very good money for it, if the weapon proves to be useful in the long run......

use your head shot :-) head shot is the whole reason why you use a rifle.

Man, I wouldn't goto dathomir quite yet. I was playing there with a rifleman, master medic, and myself a master marksman and a baz nitch takes a long time to kill and usually, one of us gets incapped, sometimes more than one of us. Also, if you are low level and aren't doing much damage, and everyone else is, then there is a chance you would get very little xp.

For one thing go and get your rifle sliced or find one that is faster firing. You should be able to find a DLT20a that does 90-130 damage or something around there with a 5.0 or less refire. Then get it sliced to raise the damage or the firing rate. Look for low ham cost too.

I suggest sticking around naboo or corellia and looking for a group there that is hunting some of the big creatures. Its a lot funner to play in a group and to hunt big creatures than sit around shooting space bunnies over and over.

I'm almost Rifle Specialist (stopped cause I'm going for Smuggler) and I got most of my XP from killing Tusken Raiders. For a rifleman, I suggest going to Tusken Camp (near Wayfar) because Fort Tusken is close quarters combat. Anyways, I would group with a bunch of people and I would position myself on the hill (40m)and wait for a person to pull a Raider. From there just keep sniping and the Raider will never attack you because other people are tanking.AndRaiders give really good XP ~300-1000 depending on how much damage your doing. Lather, RInse, Repeat for hours on end!

It took me awhile to get enough XP to make specialist in rifle, and therefore complete my Master Marksman. Towards the end, get a spraystick (Wasabi made me a nice one...also on Gorath galaxy) and just shoot at anything! The gun takes off crappy HP damage at times, but it's almost as quick as a scout or laser pistol! I used that, as well as a Laser Rifle and ran with a big crew over to the tusken fort. If your group knows what they're doing, they'll arrange the Marksmen with good rifle skills on one side, and allow them to do the head shots, which will get you major xp if you're using a Laser Rifle (I can get as much as 1100 per Head Shot with that bad boy!)

Until you get to that level though, grind away!Using a pet as a distraction would help you immensely until you get up to expert Rifle.

I've been grinding around Mos Entha for my specialist weapon xp. There's a mission terminal north of the main cantina. From there I equip my best weapon and pickup a couple missions to either the E, NE, or SE. Mainly Sevvort lairs if I can get them. But I pretty much kill everything on the way to and from the missions. I was able to pick up around 10K-20K pistol xp in no more than 2 hours that way. Not exactly the most glorious way of doing it, but it brings in the weapon and combat xp.

For fast rifle xp, grab a spraystick and head to Rori--either Restuss or Narmle. Run around the preimeter of the city, and execute the dozens of blue-con mobs that spawn there. I picked up 63,000 rifle xp (and made specialist) in just a few hours, without placing myself in any real danger whatsoever. If you get bored, find a squall or two to kill, or some of the aggro NPC mobs. It is a grind, but it works.
