Thread: 38+ Crafting Stations: How do they help?

A while ago I tried using a regular crafting tool and a highly experimented crafting tool and made a whole bunch of items. I couldn't really see a difference in the items that were produced, both tools made the same spec'd items, and the failure rates were about the same as well.

Do 38+ Crafting Stations actually do anything useful and if so what? Has anyone tried comparing a regular non-experimented crafting station with a highly experimented on to see if it produces a visible difference?

Is there any hard data on that it helps though? I am still skeptical. I really think that the higher the effectiveness is, then the better chance you should have of getting an amazing success, but I'm doubting thats how it works.

Joshai, i have noticed no difference whatsoever. I believe somone has run tests (unscientific)...but no noticable results...and no one in "the know" (the REAL know) will comment on this issue.

Experimental Crafting tools allow a lower risk factor when experimenting. for instence: i have two waepon drond and generic item tools one was left at base experimental level with that statioon i biult one that had 49% experimental eficency and thre risk % in experimenting was a good 4 to 5 % lower than the first.

I was asking about Stations.

Was just commenting on how experimented tools didn't seem to make a noticeable difference when using them so was wondering if anyone saw a noticeable difference in experimented crafting stations.

I remember in the early days, crafting at public crafting stations with negative rating tools. I used to frequently get crit failures when experimenting.

since I got a +37 rating station and +13 tools (food/chem, since upgraded to +42 and +14.75) I've had about 2 or 3 crit failures on an experiment, in the last 3 to 4 months. It's almost ALWAYS a great success, an amazings are frequent.

I have no hard data, but the difference is enough to convince me

My understanding is that a high rated station reduces your chance of critical failures. I've heard that your crafting tools make more of a difference if they have a high rating. I have no documentation for either of those claims, just what I've heard from talking to other knowledgeable crafters.
