Hi everbody

I am looking to go Business 3 to get a vendor to make the sales of my (almost) Master Ranger harvest a little bit smoother.

I am wondering... what are the downfalls of achieving the lowest lever vendor? Do I have a limitted number of items I can place? Can I put stuff on the vendor for say, for an unreasonable price, just to store more stuff, or am I limmited to the number of items my house can hold?

Can anybody tell me the pros and cons to *just* getting Business 3? I will have to sacrifice to free up the the skill points so, is it worth it or am I better off meating people to sell my goods?

As far as I can tell, the 'Terminal' vendors function identically to the 'Robot' and 'Humanoid' type ones, regarding capacity, sale prices, etc. They just look nasty. I'm not sure if maintenance is much different between the types, but all vendors maintenance is very cheap compared to Harvesters, etc, anyway.

Increases in Business and Merchant improve yourVendors (Number of vendors you can have at once) and Hiring (Types of vendors available) Stats. At Business IV you can pick a robot thing instead of the terminal. Once into Merchant, you get to pick people vendors, and choose their clothes, what they say to people and so on, and register them on the Planetary Map and local Overlay maps. Novice Merchant needs Merchant XP though to start, which means getting people to buy from your Terminal/Robot Vendor, and/or pay entry fee to your house.

Beyond that though, there isn't anything special Business IV gives you that III does not. Most of the really useful Vendor related abilities are in the Merchant tree.

I'm not sure, but I believe Vendor Stock doesn't count toward house limit. I know it doesn't count toward Bazaar item limit.

As far as I know, there's only cosmetic differences between the vendor you can use at Business III and the one you can use at Business IV.

However, I encountered the bug at Business III that would not allow me to initialize and use the vendor. I even had a CSR come in.. we could use a vendor as long as he placed it, but if I placed it, the vendor was unusable.

Once I hit Business IV (and Master) I was able to use both vendors.

Just a warning... the Bulky vendor may not work for you.
