Vehicles will be best made by those who can experiment. What everyone seems to think though is that a Master Artisan is the way to go.

lol

Not the case my fellow crafters! You max out on general crafting experimentation points after completeing only 2 trees. Engineering and food/clothing.

So for those that want to buy a vehicle from only Master Artisans, there is no need, as Master Artisan DOES NOT get you extra experimentation points.

Therefore those who want to grind to make and sell vehicles. find Ubber resources to craft them with, and only grind the 2 trees. Business, Survey, and Master get you 0 Experimentation Points.

Excellent Observation!

I'd better add extra experimentation points for Master Artisan to my wish list..

What kind of game is SWG now?

Pre-CU:
Master Artisan, Master Shipwright, Master Merchant, Pistoleer 0020:
Favourite Weapon: FW-G5, Happy
After CU:
Much the same, but CL 54, Favourite Weapon FW-G5, Still happy
After NGE Game Downgrade:
Trader (Structures), same skills as every other trader in same specialty, CL2, can only use a CDEF, and no armor, NOT Happy -> Cancelled Account

Folks who've ground to Eng4 and Dom4 have put in 90% of the effort to get to MA already... so that doesn't break me up much. They probably have Surv4 too, unless they're buying all their materials on the bazaar.

But that IS a good point.

Still. We probably haven't seen the final schematic yet. I'm hoping they'll have subcomponents.

The indication on Test Center is that experimentation has no effect on vehicles.

I wish it did... then there would be a point to buying your vehicle from a professional vs. a grinder.

No decay + uber loot = /spit on crafters

Fix the economy and give crafters their $$$ worth... give us real revamp.

Yeah, Engineering IV and Domestics IV gives the full experimentation points (which is a cop out in my mind, but oh well) I've been a Master Artisan for quite some time now, and while it's not that big of a deal that people with only two trees can match me, it's slightly. But this isn't a coversation about that.

The *best* vehicles, however, will be made by people with their 10 experimentation points, and a ton of very nice SR metals.

Grimjakk,

Why would you think that they are not testing the actually schematics that will be used when vehicles go live? Isn't that kind of the whole purpose of testing?

Sure, there may be some more complex vehicles down the road some time; maybe even an actual vehicle creation profession. But, for now, I think it is a safe bet that the three vehicles on TC will go live, just the way they are.

Ture but you can't search for someone that has Engineering IV and Domestic Arts IV. Searching for Master Artisan assures you of getting the best.

Jedi will be rare and difficult - No
Increased Dev communication - No
CU will balance combat - No
Most of the bugs from launch fixed - No
saintchuck will continue to pay - No

- I supported the CURB, the Devs and the attempt to make SWG a better game and have realized it didn't work so I'm quitting in less than 2 days and won't be tricked into coming back again. Trick me once, shame on you...

Just some comments made by a frequent poster on the DE boards... he's been a good source so far.

He claimed to have it on good authority that these schematics were not the finals and that those were still up for discussion. (/shrug)

But, hey, at this stage they haven't even put in the different speed ranges for the vehicles yet. The only thing we know for sure is that there will be changes in the next couple weeks.

The other reason I think they might change the schematics is that they're stillFIXING experimentation inschematics where it hasn't workedsince day one. Just seems odd that they'd add a NEW item with broken experimentation. Especially with items that are just dripping with possibilities for customization. I for one would love to see artisans putting together different vehicles with different speed/handling/durability priorities. The whole thing would be intensely satisfying to me. I'd even go so far as to say that it'd giveengineering artisans a whole new "flavor" as mechanic/grease monkeys.

And I'm still hoping that they'll allow us to put droid storage compartments (the generic kind that used to be used in repair tools) in landspeeders to give it some optional storage space.

We also know the speeds:

Landspeeder (slowest of the three, yet has more Hitpoints)

Swoop Bike (Average speed and average hitpoints)

Speeder Bike (Highest speed and lowest hitpoints)

This is taken from a dev post.
