Thread: Vehicle Manufacturing should have a separate profession ... Just like Droids OR even better....

Look this is the DUMBEST thing I've seen the Devs do ... why would you have droids [... which, other than mouse droids don't seem to do a lot,] and creatures be created and/or trained by separate professions .... but you have vehicles [... I would be willing to bet they will be the MOST used items in the game ...] are made by almost ANYONE ...there won't be a market .... EVERYONE will just freaking grind a little bit to get to Engineer IV ... make his vehicles and then get rid of the slots for something else ... meanwhile, while he's Eng IV ...he'll make himself all that other stuff he might have gotten from an artisan instead ... Where is the Player Economy ?? Did Luke make his own Landspeeder? I don't think so ... it's silly ...

It should be it's own profession ...OR even better .... How about a join venture!!!

Let say that it take THREE Professions to do it ... one person ...or three people colaborationg ..

for example, the Droid Engineer creates the Blue print for the frame ... the Engineer IV or Master Artisanmakes the engine components, the Armour Smith makes the heavy panels and body work.

It probably will work like that, if the existing trade skills are anything to go by. This is just the pre-xmas rush-job to get *some* vehciles in game.

Yeah, at this point, there's probably not enough content for vehicles to warrant a whole new profession. Maybe when the space expansion comes, they'll shift vehicles to a new ship designer profession.

I agree, but it PROBABLY WILL BE a new profession with the space expansion.

Think about it... these vehicles are the MSE droids of their biz. At least swoop bikes are supposed to be dead simple racing bikes that anyone skilled enough to slap together a moisture vaporator can make.

I am glad that vehicles are out. It would probably take an extra week or THREE to get a new profession OA's and released.

More like Three MONTHS. Anyway, I think the Dev's are releasing Vehicles now to keep players happy and engaged in the game. Same as mounts were.

Besides... now that its confirmed that they'll be MA items, Artisan has just become the new Vehicle profession.

At least until the space expansion is out.

I love that they moved it to master artisan. I see some components in there that I don't remember from months ago when I crafted the first time, and I don't know what they are or are for [they might -have- been there before, never did make it that far]. I remember people complaining that the only thing they can make is nemoidian bird cages. This gives an actual reason to master artisan now. And since it costs 75 skill points to master artisan, while it is easy, I don't think everyone will pick it up on the side [while, if it were still engineering IV...].

I also really hope that they make a new profession for vehicles in the expansion... I'll ditch my weaponsmithing in a heartbeat for it.

Heh. I'd be the galaxy's only dancer/mechanic. O.o;
