Thread: Advenced Vehicle Orders-Great Prices!
Don't be gouged on opening week! I'll be offering quality vehicles for reasonable prices.
X-34 only 20k credits!
Speeder Bikes only 30k credits!
Swoop Bikes only 40k credits!
I'll try to keep a few on my vendor but to be sure you get your speeder at a good price, post your order here or send me an e-mail or tell in game with your order.
Zendeil Starborne
Starborne Ent
-2779, -2508
Corellia, Bria
And why are you putting this on the Artisan Boards?
Here are my prices
10k- Landspeeder
15k- Swoop
15k- Speeder
Zendeil's prices are extremely reasonable for what is required. The X34 is less than 5 cpu!!
For those of you selling at rock-bottom prices, you will run out of minerals in about 20 minutes with that many people buying from you, and then people such as Zendeil and myself will be able to sell at what we like. There is no way you can continue to sell at that price for any extended period of time, even if you mine your own resources.
I can understand wanting to have reasonable prices for the vehicles you sell, but why sell at such a low price that you don't make any money? I've seen posts on other sites that talk about how much money that combat types have, and it's obvious. While we're grinding away making items to sell for 5cpu, they are out making 10 or 20k on a mission, doing two at a time.
If a schematic requires novice artisan to build, then you probably can't charge 10cpu for the final product, unless noone else will bother making the item. However, if the schematic requires mastery of a given profession, or even an ADVANCED profession, such as architect or weaponsmith, then pricing should be elevated a bit. If they think it's too high, they can master and make their own.
Prices are based on marketing, and marketing is based on supply and demand. If there are 10 people selling something, and only 9 people want to buy, then competition is fierce and noone will makemuch money, because everyone needs to make a profit (however puny) in order to survive. In this example, we have a good supply, which means lower prices. However, if there are 10 people selling something, and 150 people want to buy, then competition is greatly reduced, and people are willing to pay a higher price to get the fewer items being produced. In this example, we have agood demand, so prices are/should be higher. This side of the equation is why holocrons sell for millions of credits...if there were ten times as many in the game, they wouldn't sell for nearly as much.
I've noticed that a lot of people are clueless when it comes to pricing. I've seen people selling items for for less than 1cpu, and I've seen other people selling the same thing for 10cpu. When there's a difference in quality, and it makes a difference, then that's fine. When quality isn't a factor, then it's obvious which will sell.
Pricing your items is based on a couple things, mainly. In this game (yeah, it is, actually) it's very simple, since everything is based on cpu. There's no labor cost, insurance plans, etc to worry about.
1) Figure the resource usage: units used
2) Figure the resource cost per unit: cost cpu
3) Decide how much profit you want per unit of resource you use: profit cpu
4) Do the mathfor itemcost: units used * cost cpu = total cost (do this for each resource used and add them all together for a total)
5) Do the math for item profit: units used * profit cpu =totalprofit (do this for each resource used and add them all together for a total)
6) Do the math for final product pricing: total cost + total profit = final item price
This final price may or may not work, depending upon supply and demand. If your items sell very quickly, try raising your price slightly, repeatedly if necessary, until the sales begin to taper off. This is where you reach harmony between pricing and demand. Conversely, if your items don't sell well, reduce the price slightly, repeatedly if necessary, until the sales reach an acceptable level. This is also harmony between pricing and demand.
Bear in mind that this isn't intended as a slap in the face or an insult aimed at anyone's intelligence or common sense, it's just an attempt at helping people who truly don't understand how to price stuff. This is a very basic explanation of how pricing SHOULD be done, as opposed to some random numbers that are magically pulled from the air. People will vary as to what they have as their expectations of profit margin(total item profit). Someone who is trying to improve their skills by making items and selling them cheaply to advance more quickly is being prudent, as opposed to simply throwing money at the crafting tools and grinding away. Either way will work, depending upon your desires and wealth status.
If we educate the people who have no clue, as opposed to flaming them, so that they bring their prices more in line, then it's a better world for all of us. Besides, they will make more money, we will make more money, and we'll all be much happier.

Gouged ? THose prices are just fcuked...
These are and will continue to be my prices, I worked hard finding/buying/moving harvestors to get my resources and to get MA... W T F should I go lower and screw myself over.
Swoop: 64k
Speeder: 48k
X34: 34k
People have the option of bringing their own resources ... BUT ... I am still charging 2k for the combine.
BTW take into account crit failures... one crit on a swoop and you lose 6k of resources... yah you can through a schem into a factory... but then with that amount of resources just how many will that factory produce in a day ? What about factory cost to produce those what... 10? 20? a day that that factory will make ?
People who think my prices are too high can frankly go .... themselves.
Just saw this... a great post and pretty much justifies my pricing:

Thank you all for your support and critiques. I thought carefully about my prices before I set them. I feel they are a fair price considering materials needed and skill level to produce. Yes I know I could charge much more, but why? I'm not going to do it just because "they" do. That would make me like "them".
Oh, and yes, I'll run out of resources faster.... but by the time I do, I'll be tired of making speeders. ![]()

Actually... i have 650k non-ferrous and 980k ferrous... i think i'll be running factories for awhile... i was ready for that comment... just waiting.
My prices will be dictated by the market minus 25% for the first day, then flat 3cpu after that. Sorry... money doesn't really matter anymore, but a good customer base does.

Doesn't make sense. You're saying you worked hard to get MA so you should charge a descent pricefor your vehicles, and then you say if someone brings the metal you'll combine it for free basically. The fact that you are a MA is the reason you can do it, so I would still charge at least 20 to 30K for the combine myself. This reminds me of when mounts came out and people would bring an untrained mount to a CH and expect to only pay 5K to have it trained when CH's were selling their own raised mounts for 50K+. Friends I would do this for free, but if you don't charge a price that makes it profitable and worth your time to the general consumerit kills the value of everything including the profession.
