why is it that these boards are full of rants of he "under cut me! blah blah" ug its called capitalism people im sorry but it just leaves people who refuse to compete in the dust.

as for people complaining about the so called "dabblers" um... excuse me this is a master level skill.... so theres no "one tree wonders" screwing everything up for you. they did just as much work as you did to get where they are.

I did great business last night and I have no complaints. I just made sure to contact any other MAs in my area to agree a price (how very anti-competitive) and I waited out the crazy discounters.

Actually waiting got me more business by far. Early on you couldn't move for people selling vehicles for half the return you could get for putting the raw resources on the bazaar, but a few hours in they'd sold out and I didn't even have to shout, just sat in front of a starport and people asked me as they passed by if I had anything to sell. A few people tried to get silly prices, but there were enough customers that I just didn't bother with them.

I think I crafted about 15 vehicles originally (I have resources for more than 80) of which I kept one, gave two (and some of the profits)to friends and sold about 9 of the rest. I've got halfa million credits in the bank and I'm more than happy with that for now.

My best buy with my profits? An R5 with weapon, droid and general item crafting module. Dunno why I never bought one before.

Andthat is the crux of the vehicle pricing story, compared to initial prices for creatures.

It's basic economics, folks, supply and demand. Where there were only a few creature handles able to train mounts, master artisans are a dime a dozen. Creature Handlers had trouble fulfilling all requests to have pets trained as mounts, where MAs had to cry their wares to get any attention from potential buyers.

It was interesting to see this play out like a textbook case in economics. When the supply and the number of suppliers exceeds the demand, price wars ensue. In contrast, if there is only one or just a few suppliers, prices can and will be kept artificially high. Ever asked yourself why RL diamonds are so expensive? Simple: their intrinsic value is very small, but pretty much only De Beers is mining and selling them, and they charge what they like. In-game, creature handlers were able to play the market, but not MAs. There were simply too many of them.
