Thread: serious take on vehicles
Ok First off they greatly enhance the game especially paired with the POI datapad.
From a Artisan stand poin two things NEED to be addressed!! The decay rate is isanely FAST this is ok except fer one thing the amount of resources need to make a vehicle is not proportinate to the decay rate!!! average 7k of metal per vehicle ? normal usage puts it at a few hours continueous use? Fer that high resource cost i have to charge at least 10-15k to even out given maitinance costs and power(or buying resources) so i charge flat rate 20k thats not fair to the population im charging 20k(in some cases alot more) for something that will only last 3 hrs(dontget it shot or it willbe gone in 5 minutes)? Yeah u can use a garage i took my speeder in (a little less than 22% damage) and hadit repaired only rode it fer a total of 35 minutes and had it repaied 2356cr to repair. so Far this thing has cost me 22356 in one day no you figure i use it about the same everyday the vehicle will cost me over 16k a week in upkeep (houses dont cost that much nor anything else in the game)74k a month? THATS INSANE Player cities cant have garages so that even more cash being sucked out of our struggling economy. now I could charge liek 5k fer a bike but i would losse money so fast.. Unless u dropped the resource requirement buy 10 fold ie 320 aluminum/640 for a swoop. OR decrease the decay rate for the vehicles buy half. Why half? Half the decay rate will cut the monthly "upkeep" on vehicles toa (yes half have u gotten tired of me writting half casue if u have ill have to do somthing about it may be only use it in half of my sentences?) much more manageble 37k a month (STILL VERY HIGH) maybe tweak the garages to be cheaper? I dunno im sure these balances will be checked and looked at or give us a new profession I.E Mechanic we can repair vehicles and structures.Maybe even run a player garage (medics have hospitals entertainers have cantinas Artisans, Weaponsmiths , Droid Engineers, and Architects have a workshop or garage?? Nope we werk outside or in a house? I duno maybe im ranting but i see a HUGE money suck here are the vehicles nuthin but a hoover for the devs to curb the inflation rate of the communities?? The only ones (once again) who stand to profit are people in guilds (like me) who have accsess to large amounts of resources and steady clinetell and resources hounds who sell resources al day long!! A new player loggin in tommorrow and grinding out Master artisan in less than a week (im being conservative here) will not be able to carv out a niche wiht his wimpy 10 lots (on a side notw i think that masters in any art proffesion should get an extra 5 lots sort of a bonus fer being A MASTER?)Ok rant done flame begin! ![]()
The decay rate is a bit fast, but overall I am pleased. Hey, if these things break all the time, drivers will have to come back to us to get new ones

In addition, I think vehicles are a perfect candidate for a money sink. Think about it... real governments use cars for this very purpose as well. If you want the convenience of driving, there's a price to pay. Good news: this is indeed a money sink: vehicle repair fees disappear from the economy.
