People need to stop pricing vehicles according to how much they could sell the resource for on the bazaar, the only people who should do that are those who buy their resources on the bazaar, and no vehicle manufacturer can afford to do that.

Look at swoops. A swoop takes 8k resources. Let's say your inv is a bit crammed, but you can craft and store 20 in ten minutes. Sell that 20 at the shuttleport for 20k each and you've earned 400,000cr for ten minutes crafting, half an hour at theshuttleport and your time to mine 160,000 resources. That doesn't take long or cost much if you take half an hour to survey properly.

How long would it take to make 400,000 on the bazaar selling the resources in lots? Let's be generous and say 6cpu. You'd need to place 133 lots at 3,000cr each. That's only 66,666 units of resource, but you've got to split out 133 stacks of 500. You can only place 25 lots on the bazaar at a time (AFAIK), so if you loaded up 25 lots then no more until they all sold (who wants to run to the bazaar every five minutes) then it would take you 5 days and a load of resource splitting and bazaar hassle to generate that money. Oh and you still have to mine the stuff out the ground.

Some master artisans are forgetting that one major benefit for us of vehicles is that it parcels up 4250-8000 units of resource into a nice, easy to sell parcel that every single player has a use for. How many players have need of that stack of high OQ copper you have? What are your chances of selling 8000 steel by shouting outside the spaceport for 5 minutes? Heck, the decay is virtually making them disposable. Why would you not want to put them within reach of as many people as possible.

Now I haven't yet sold a vehicle for under 5cpu, so feel free to call me a hypocrite, but if prices fall to 3cpu I'll still be selling. I'd rather craft a couple ofX34s while I'm waiting at the shuttleport and sell them for 30k than bother with the hassle of the bazaar. With the cost of my mining being 0.15cpu or so I'll still be making a handsome profit without the hassle of the bazaar. Who wants to turn that down?

Very true... Though you can also sell your resources in your vendor if you have one. And this is not limited.

Don't get me wrong I'm not doing that and do think you're right in the overall. Yet I did place my first vehicles at a high price for day 1 to avoid people emptying me and then reselling in front of the starport... In a few days I'll probably go down to 3cpu + a little depending on experiment result...

Or you could pay attention in the galaxy trade forums, find out what materials sell for 6cpu+, harvest in bulk and sell it to their vendors. For a little bit more time, you could post an auction in galaxy trade and get near 10cpu for good material.

I hate arguing economics with some of you people...
