Thread: A Few Questions about resource collecting

Hello,


I just got into the resource collecting gig and have a few questions if someone could help me out please.


1 - When I place a harvestor it takes power and money. When I pick it up it has to havea certain ammount of money to be picked up ( for instance it has to have 3000 on the maintenance of my Wind Generators to redeed) does that money disappear or is it there when I place the harvestor again? What about the power?


2 - I think the resources come and go. Is there a way to find out how long an item will be on or do you just have to guess? Is there a set time each element will be on the game?


3 - My harvestor, in the operate machinery window, displays 2 numbers the KPH actual and the KPH base rate. The KPHbase rateis the number that I can read on the deed as the extract rate. And the KPH actual is that number times the % of the resource at the site. Example: I have a harvester with a base rate of 8 and I place it on a 50% collection point the KPH actual reads as 4. I get that it will collect at 4 Kilos per hour, I assume. But this doesn't seem to be the case. It seems to collect at about 1/10 of that maybe a bit more. Is there something I am not understanding about this part of the harvestor and its properties?

Let me see if I can answer your questions



1 - Using the personal mineral extractor as an example. It needs 3000 credits to reclaim the deed. When you use it again t will have 0 maintenance. Now if for exampl you have 5000 credits of maintenance then when you use it again it will have 2000 credits of maintenance. The 3000 is deducted.


2 - They do come and go. There is no set schedule either. I may be wrong but I think that they change when there are server reboots, I'm not sure though


3 - As for the extraction rate the KPH reading is wrong. That is not the actual extraction rate. The actual rate is what ever it say in units per minute. So if the actual rate is for example 2 then it is 2 units per minute. So for a 24 hour period that would be 2880 units.

The reeded credits disappear into the void. Energy will always remain. The cost to redeed is 50 × the hourly maintenance rate, so the personal extractors have a redeed cost of 1500 credits, the mediums 3000 credits and the heavies 4500 credits. All power mining installations have the same maintenance costs and cost 3000 credits to redeed.

There is not an exact set time, but most inorganics last for seven to ten days. There are eight exceptions to this, known as the JtL resources because they were added with JtL and are mostly used by shipwrights. These are Fermionic Siliclastic Ore, Conductive Borcarbitic Copper, Perovskitic Aluminum, Crystallized Bicorbantium Steel, Hardened Arveshium Steel, High Grade Polymetric Radioactive, Gravitonic Fiberplast and Unstable Organometallic Reactive Gas. These last for twenty-one to thirty days at a stretch. The organics I'm not so sure about but I believe they also last for twenty-one to thirty days, or it might be fourteen to twenty.

The value you see is units per minute. Since we don't know the weight of each 'unit' we can't say for sure that it isn't also Kilograms per Hour.
