I have read the posts for 3 hours and cant find anything on the new ranger CAMO kits, what do they do and how do you use them. I made my first one today and it had 2 units but loading it on QB or using the dial dont give me option to use just examine or distroy. Someone please help me to figure this out

Cammo kits? I used mine by hitting the conceal macro, after targeting myself. I'm not sure if they really work on players yet. I think they do work on npcs though, because i was doing a faction mission and was overt, walked right up to the agro npc and danced. It seemed to work on hostile players, but only some of them. I walked really close to a group and they didnt even see me it seems. i pushed my luck a bit later, by shooting at people in town from a hill. most people just ran out of range, until one commando saw me and blew me up.

I tryed it with some freinds of mine, i left their radar range for a while, and came back concealed. It didnt work.

I would like to know if it is supposed to work only on hostile players? Or if its skill based, and what determines how you get spotted. IE what is the spotting skill?

As faras I've heard and noticed it only works against NPC's so don't even bother huntin Pc's with it. It works pretty much like Maskscent only it has a higher sucess rate and works against sentient NPC's also.

How long do the camo kits last exactly? Is it random or a set duration?

Camo kits work exactly the same as mask scent except now you can sneak past NPCs. You can also apply camo to other PCs. Lasts about 10 minutes if its not broken sooner.

IMHO as a Master Ranger, they are more of a hassle than anything. The camo breaks just as easily as mask scent does. The amount of resources required is a little too high. Plus it basically takes up 5 inventory slots, 4 for the high quality resources used only for making the kits and 1 for the camo kit itself. Since I put each planet specific kit in a cargo pocket, make that 6 slots x 10 planets = entire inventory minus the backpack. I know I could store the resources in my house or the bank, but why would I want to make a trip all the way back to Naboo so I can pick up my Dathomir camo supplies?

They were fun right after the last patch because of the novelty. Now, I rarely use them except when I am grouped with newbies, or artisans on harvestor runsthat don't have any scout skills. It sucks running through a group of reds and your partner gets ambushed because they can't mask scent. Such is the life of a Helper.

Do camo kits have a visual effect on your character? i.e., you can see the camoflauge when you spin around and look at yourself?

No visual effect. Just like you can still smell yourself even when you have mask scent on.

they fixed some things about the cammo kits, that I've noticed. They actually give you xp like they should when they work against npcs. Tuskens are pretty god at spotting me stil, but hey, it is their planet. If we had some way of knowing if players could see us, that would be great. So fa i dont know for sure if it works on players. Non hostiles have said they see me fine and i see my Ranger friends when they use it too. I think it should work on a faction, or even a team basis. That way, neutrals wouldnt be able to spot you for your enemies. I dunno, just a suggestion.

PS. i read someones suggestion about a hunting curtain, or a cammoflauged camp. thats a nice idea too.

I just dont know what the it takes to spot someone. is it awareness?

Camo kits are so hard to make. I'm good at getting the bone and hide but where is the best place to get the flora?

HELP!!! I have been hunting high and low from one end of the galaxy to the other in search of a vendor who keeps all of the camo kits for Rangers in stock. I need kits for every planet. If someone has them I will be a customer forever. If you are on the INTREPID server, send me a /tell or an ingame email.

Thanks in advance..

Hey,

I expect you'd have much better luck posting to the Intrepid galaxy forums than the Artisan forums.

Take care,
Guru
