Thread: Changing Resource Spawns

Why do the resource spawns change about every 6 hours!, u find a 90% concentration come back later that day and its non-existant, with the next highest being 15%, then the next day its back up to 75% or something, its impossible to mine more than about 1k of a resource at a time! and u constantly have to go to ur harvesters, only to find the resource u were harvesting is at 0% now, and the next highest is 15% and that u got 400 units of the one u were harvesting, where u could have got abou 1k if the resource spawns hadnt changed over night! this is really annoying, why do they change it?

because you come in very late in the cycle, more than likely. You are finding a resource that has been there a week already, and just put a harvester down, and poof! The resource game is something you either need to track personally every couple of days, or use a website like swgcraft to find out how long something has been out there, before you drop a harvester on it.

I used to have the same issue until a friend told me about swgcraft.com.

It really is a necessity for any crafter if you want to get the resources you need.

I totally agree. SWGCraft has made my life easier. I do have 1 question, though. How long are the resource runs, in general? 6 days? 7 days? I'm assuming there's a certain amount of variability to it.


I think it would be easier to pay attention to if the names of the materials had more consonants than vowels in them!

Typically 5-8 days for minerals. Shipwright reources last longer. It does vary, but you used to be pretty sure that new spawns would happen on Mondays and Tuesdays. Though this may have changed since the no daily reboot was implemented. I haven't been keeping up on the resrouce game lately.

is best that you can look up the schematics on swgcraft for the resources, here is a small list of example
:

You have to keep track of when resources spawned if you want to do a lot mining. Using a site like SWGCraft or other alternatives will make things a lot easier. Just remember that this information depends on how often it is updated. A resource may have been registered a few days after it spawned.



The current durations are:

Non-JTL Inorganics: 6 to 11 days.

Organics: 6 to 22 days.

JTL resources: 13 to 22 days.



Resources used to have a minimum of 7 days before Publish 10. After that the spawns and despawns were randomly delayed so they would happen throughout most of the day.

Before Publish 10, resources would primarily spawn in batches at regular intervals. Now it's much more evenly spread out.

OK, this begs the question:


What are JTL resources? Are these the primary resources of Shipwrights? Any examples of what some of these are, so I know what to look for?

There are several new resources that were added to the game for shipwright. They each will exist on one world at a time and in their way have several advantages.


-longer spawns

-don't follow the normal Concentration rules for that resource type (the Fermionic Siliclastic Ore can be found in concentrations of 90%+).

-don't follow the normal Attribute rules for that resource type (seems stats will range freely from 1-1000, with no caps. e.g. Steels normally don't exceed 700 Conductivity, but Hardened Arveshium Steel, a new reource, hasspawned with 1000 CD.

Five to seven day spawns are great, but I'm seeing a lot of 3 day spawns on Tempest. I'm hitting the spawns as soon as they are listed in asiabrothers.com (best resource for tempest) and they are gone within 3 days. While others are lasting 3 weeks. But what I've noticed is that it usually happens with the highest quality stuff, so maybe it's intended, but man what a hassle on some planets to find a good spot. Clear out any nests, and hope the terrain will allow you to place a heavy or two.


Please, please please give us atleast 5 days per spawn, just so we can recover expenses.

If it disappeared 3 days after the listed date, then it was already at least 3 days old when it was registered. I'm on Tempest too and I've seen resources registered several days after they spawned. I've registered a few myself, but don't have the time do it regularily.


I've collected tons of logs from survey droids for statistics. And I've yet to see anything last shorter than 6 days.


You can't always rely on external sites for up to date information. You have to dosome surveying yourself if you want to catch the spawns quicker.

Perovskitic Aluminium
Conductive Borcarbitic Copper
Crystallized Bicorbantium Steel
Hardened Arveshium Steel
Fermionic Siliclastic Ore
Gravitonic Fiberplast
High Grade Polymetric Radioactive
Unstable Organometallic Reactive Gas


All of them except Hardened Arveshium Steel areneeded by Shipwrights for components.

Yea, I would like to know more too! I have known of them, but never attempted to use them...yet! Anybody know of a good link or sticky on them?
