Whenever I survey, the survey mad never shows anything, and I don't get a waypoint, does that mean there is none of what I'm looking for? This is really annoying!

Yes, that means there are no traces of that resource found in the surveyed area.

This usually means that no instances of that mineral/flora/resource. is found in the range of your survey tool. Try selecting a different item on the right hand side of the survey tool.

You will know if no traces are found because it will stay "Resource not found" or something similiar in the little pop-up box.

That's another thing, it doesn't say nothing found..... it's just messed up.....
