On that note, the largest pull I've gotten is 12 units from a 94% spot with Surveying IV.

The amount of resources removed from the ground is based on what information? Also, what are "normal" amounts of resources to be achieving with each sample? I was gettting 2 a sample cycle with about 50% density.

it's based on two things. The density of the sample, and your level of surveying. With survey 4, I could routinely pull sample sizes of 7-10 from a 60 or 70% spot.
