Thread: Skills to place havester?
You just survey to find a good spot, yes. Novice Artisan is fine for this purpose, thoughthe processgoes faster at higher levels of Surveybecause you gaingreater range.
There are three sizes of harvester. The top two are constructed by Architects, and are more efficient (and more expensive to operate) than the personal harvesters in the Engineering line.
As your survey skill increases, you learn to survey larger areas at a time. This is extremely beneficial and makes finding the higher concentrations much easier. I'd recommend maxing it out, as it doesn't really take much effort.
There is one harvester for each of the main resource types - Chemical, Flora, Mineral, Gas, and Water. There are also two types (Solar and Wind) available for generating power, which you'll need to power the other harvesters and factories.
You do not have to be an Artisan or Architect to usea harvestor, it's just easier to do it on your own by being Artisan. Actually, if you are in a PA, you can have another member survey for you and tell you where to place the harvestor - that way you can place a harvestor without ever being an Artisan.
I understand that Architects can make deeds for havesters. What skills do I need to set it up?(I'm assuming it's an artisan skill).
And in order to put the harvester in the best spot, what skill do I need for that? just Survey? and how high do I need to take it?
Any idea on how long a harvester will last? Can it be destroyed? Any idea what the cost is?
Better yet, does anyone know of a guide to harvesters? ![]()
Do you just survey in order to find a good spot? How high would you recommend I take Survey for that?(if that's what's used to find a good spot)
Are there different types of harvesters?
