Devs, come on guys, I get why it's needed. But I ran 2.5km to the only 56 Ore deposit in the southern hemisphere of Talus, through 3 red spawns, for a lousy 500cr and got this message and NOT the credits! GRRRRRR!!

If this is the way you want to balance it fine, but at least give us the rough formula for distance eh? At least we'll know which horizon to run to. Isit based on reward? This is a new thing, wasn't like this Mon night.

I second that motion. I've been 3km away from a city and still had the Survey too close message. If I can build a dang harvester at this point why is my survey too close?

I am getting this too. I tried using the shuttle to go to a different city and I still get too close.

Anybody tried a different planet yet? That might get their attention. Nothing else has.

Bumping this back to the front.

Has anyone been able to succeed at a mission?

I've tried multiple missions and end up just quitting them because I am so far away from one town that I'm getting closer to another. It'd be nice if these missions were actually achievable.

There seems to me to be two types of survey missions.

The first is like the one the miner in the guild hall gives you, it comes with a whitish/grey waypoint for you to go out towards and begin your search. These have always worked for me.

The second is one without the waypoint, that seems to be bugged. This seems to be the mission type that is always too close.

Out of curisoity has anyone gone off-world after they have gotten the mission to see if they sample it on another planet if it is still too close?

...and some of your 'tude.

I haven't had a single client related crash as of yet. The only "crashes" I have expereienced are the unexpected server downtimes, which is just a normal part of ALL MMORPGs.

This game also certainly doesn't play like a beta at all... I have been involved in a few beta testings in the past and I tell you what, they SUCKED. But, I bit my toungue and went along for the ride and the discovered that their official releases went even more crappy then what you claim SWG provides.

I am VERY happy with what I have found in SWG and I am VERY impressed with the whole crafting system, resource hunting and economy. It took tremendous thought to put it all together, much more then I could say was done for some other MMORPG's that I have played.

Please don't start flaming this thread. This thread is to keep track of the survey too close bugs.

I have gotten missions with a grey waypoint on my map. However, both times those waypoints have been at 0,0. And I still got the survey too close message when I went out there!

Any more feedback on this problem? Is this fixed yet?

Nope, well, that's one more bug to tack to the list... As i was typing ten minutes ago... I am, so far, very disappointed by the game. I am crashing eveyr hour or so, the mission braley work, and when they do, it is barely worth the effort. I am also not liking the skills.I did the first few skill lines in a couple days of surveying and some crafting, but now i find out that i need 28.8k in general crafting points and 5k in credits to get to novice droid engineer. I know for a fact that the missions are going to take around 5 hours. Then the skills are going to take days. Getting materials is slow and combines yield (at a decent ratio of materials spent to xp) around 40 points. That is going to take forever, this is hardly a game for the casual gamer. I think next time we should keep it in beta instead of shoving it out early and letting the first unlucky saps finish it up. I bought the special edition and so far my free month has been pretty worthless.
