Thread: Confused about resources
I have, in my inventory, many containers of Aluminum (which I've been mining a lot of lately). Most of them have 2 to 5 units in them. I don't seem to be able to combine containers and the crafting interface doesn't allow you to fill a slot from multiple containers.
Do I need to write these resources off similar to hard drive slack space, or is there a better way to deal with this issue?
There are different types of aluminums. You can only group samples that are alike.
As for crafting, if you had 2 containers of the same aluminum (or steel, flora, etc), it will allow you to use from 2 different containers. The problem is, you're trying to mix different types of aluminums. If you just hover your mouse over the item in the inventory it will tell you what type it is, and if you "Examine" it, you will see that they have different properties to them - conductivity and Overall Quality being 2 of the more important ones apparently when making firearms.
Click on one of the Aluminum items in your inventory and, before the radial button comes up, drag it over one of the other Aluminum samples in your inventory. If the Aluminum types are exactly the same, they'll combine into a single item.
I have seen this fail to work on one particular Bone resource, but it's always worked the rest of the time.
