Thread: Examine resource in harvester?
Hi all.
I am curious about something. Is there a way to examine the stats of resources in a harvester hopper?
I find it lacking if there isn't a way. When the resources shifts (up to two times a day on sunrunner) I and everyone else is forced to head out and shange the direction of a harvester. In worst case remove it and replace it elsewere.
And once you change the resource you have to wait until atleast 1 sample of that unit have been harvesteed, remove it from the hopper and then examine it to see the stats. Which, when pressed for time could mean you spent 8hrs or more harvesting the wrong resource because the stats are to low for your production.
I am a master artisan and novice architect. And as such I want to use the best resources possible for my creations. As I am sure everyone else does.
The best would be if you were able to see the stats on the resource in the selection. As far as I know that dont change.
I post this here since you need to be artisan atleast to do most of the crafting.
Also.... how come some resources have avarage-above avarage stats in most areas but the overall ql can be as low as 20 or so? doesn't overall ql reflects the avarage numbers on the other stats? Well obviously not, but shouldn't it? I mean some fiberplast with between 600-800 in some stats end up with 23 in overall ql doesn't seem right to me?
Is there a formula for the stats, is it random, or have the SOE teams added the numbers manually?
And no, overall quality is completely independent of the other statistics. As far as I know, they're all independent.
You're right. I sometimes sample a low concentration with my harvesters. And I could do a manual sampling to determine the stats of the resource. But that wasn't the point of my post.
I just feel it would be easier and more convenient if you could get the stats from the resource in the hopper. or from the selection of resource before you make your choice.
Your suggestions are available but it is not an optional way to do it. It is the only way for now. but not very optimal.
It is not always possible to get a sample manually. When resources first shift, they show up in the survey device.. but you cannot manually sample them. Artisan survey missions do not recognize them as a valid resource even when higher than the required concentration.
The only way to check out the new stuff.. and get a jump on the competition is to use a harvestor. I have, on occasion had my medium work for about 5 minutes or so to get at a 1% resource of something new. If I like it, I then re-deed my harvestor and go a hunting.
