Thread: Question about experimentation and limits to effectiveness..

Well, not really a question..but an "i don't understand and could someone please explain to me"

I have trained everything in artisan except dom arts IV and Master. I have novice Archi (not that this matters with this post) and my race is human for the artisan skill mod.

Now, using great materials and a great crafting station i can NOT make my tools more than 91% effective.

I will have 90% effectiveness and have one more skill point left. I get AMAZING success, and still do not go over 91% (which is a tool that is about 12.54 with the materials i'm using).

it is obvious that there is a limit here..and I never realized before that there was one. I'm assuming that once I hit dom arts IV and then master artisan, that last point will give me more than 1% point increase, and then whatever additional points should theoretically give me 100%.

Could someone please explain, give input? thanks!

By any chance does the metal you're using have a 910 conductivity? The way I've heard--and this seems to be valid based on the crafting I've done--is that the maximum percentage that can be experimented to is 1/10th of the related resource stat(s). Since the effectiveness/quality (can never remember for crafting tools) is based 100% on conductivity, if the resource stat limit is true, a tool created from a910 con resource can't be experimented past 91%. Plus, I happened to come across a 910ish copper on Tatooine/Chilastra a few days ago, and since you're on the same server...

I wish we could get some more hard details on this, since I've hit your results a few times myself: tried experimenting the last box and only getting 1-2 percentage increase.

If this has been any help....any chance I could order four or five 91% food/chem tools?

It is higher than 901 con..but that is a good theory.

The maximum percentage you can experiment up to is limited by the quality of the specific attribute or combination attributes divided by 1,000.

IE:

The formula for one attribute is:

Attribute Quality / 1,000 = Maximum Experimentation Percentage.

For one that’s based on 50% of one attribute quality and 50% of another attribute quality the formula is:

( ( Attribute Quality + Attribute Quality ) / 2 ) / 1,000 = Maximum Experimentation Percentage.

There are other limiting factors however. These are the effectiveness of the crafting tool and crafting station that you are using. You will only be able to hit the Maximum Percentage with high effectiveness tools and stations.
