The answer is yes, but probably not the way you're looking for. Say there's an Titanium Aluminum resource called "Blarfinar".

These won't work:
/survey Metal
/survey Aluminum
/survey Titanium Aluminum

This works:
/survey Blarfinar

If you don't have the survey tool open, you won't see the percentages, but the "resource survey" waypoint will update (at least until your datapad gets locked). Also, /survey by itself will re-survey for whatever resource you surveyed for last, although this will get reset to nothing with a logout or a shuttle trip.

You can also use the resource name with /sample.

Hope that helps.

Is there a way to specify what resource to survey without using the tool?

It's annoying how I have to use tool each time I want to survey for different types of resources.

If there is a way to set up macros to survey specific resources, that would be great. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Are you sure that works? I've tried it thinking it may work, and didn't.

Hmm, it's possible you have to open the mineral survey tool at least once before giving the command line /survey.

I do know that it works under some conditions, I just may not have paid enough attention to what those conditions were. What type of error orresponse do you get when you try /survey?

Is there a list some where of all the resoure names?

Another question, has anyone had any problem with the resourses not showing up in the surveying tool? I need some aluminum but my surveying tool doesn't show it any more. Any solutions? Besides buying it at a bazzar?
