Thread: Master Artisan Electronics Components: Is there a market?
Great heaping gobs of resources? Check.
Factory? Check
Customers? None.
Hmmm... Whenever I see an elite 'smith standing around the starport or bank, I hit them up with a casual sales pitch; "...contact me if you need them" or "...Give me a tell" and I have gotten no responses.
I've tried cold emails to the elite 'smiths who run shops that I know about. No luck.
I've posted sample items on the bazaar with "advertisements" in the descriptions.
Nothing so far. This leads to a couple possible conclusions, that I hope people on the board can refute or confirm.
a.) Most of the elite smiths that use these components are already Master Artisans and make their own.
b.) The use of these components isn't as wide spread as I was lead to believe.
c.) I'm late to the game, and everyone that needs these things supplied already has them and/or a supplier for them.
So, if you are making some income producing these things, please share some love with your fellow Master Artisan.
Thank you in advance.
After I reached Master Artisan, I immediately experienced the same problem. In fact, I didn't know that Droid Repair Tools didn't work at all, so I took extra time crafting all the extra components I could, and made a Droid Repair Tool that ballads should have been written about. Then I found out that it was completely worthless, and looked for a different way to enjoy my new level of crafting.
I made a number of electronic components and put them on a personal vendor. I had started with the idea of selling them for about 10cr * the resources involved in making them. This turned out to be way overpriced, as I soon found out that there was another vendor near mine selling the same items for significantly less.
I lowered my prices, and eventually, someone came along and bought up all of my supply. I've tried selling on the Bazaar, but haven't had any success there. I don't think Elite crafters utilize the Bazaar to get these items, but instead either make Master Artisan and craft the electronics themselves, or rely upon a friend.
I have to disagree with your assessment of the amount of resources involved, though. 12 to 20 resources per item isn't exactly great gobs, in my opinion. Control Units and the items that can take other components double this number, but even with doubling, it just doesn't seem like that much, when the components involved aren't that difficult to come into.

Thanks for the response, it's good to know I'm not alone on this...
As for the resources, you are correct. I was thinking more along the lines of the micro sensor suite with all 3 sub components. I don't have my notes with me, but it's around 120 resources for one of those, then multiplied by 25 for a factory crate of them. Of course, it's all relative, I'm sure an architect will scoff at my measly 120 resource/items!
Let me address this issue, because I feel it's a valid one, and I wish you could succeed at a Master Artisan profession.
I was Weaponsmith before I became Master Artisan. For all of 2 days. Why you ask? Simple.
Inventory restrictions on this game areextremely stupid. But they existbecause of the out of game reason that Sony programming sucks, sucks, sucks. But Weaponsmiths have to have already a staggering array of parts, not counting those that are Master Artisan parts. So why be a Master Artisan? Well, rather than having to track one down, find their vendor (if they have one) buy the crates and crates and crates of Control Units, Power Conditioners, Energy Distrubtors, etc that I need, and then realize afterbuying oh, say 70-100 crates of the parts I need, using 2 accounts, with 2 banks, and 2 factories and 2 houses, I STILL have a full inventory and can't move anything around.
I instead elect to be a Master Artisan myself, craft the individual parts I need for that run, and not worry about all that bother. I know my own availiability, I don't know another persons'.
Did you know that some higher end weapons require 5 factory made control units per gun? If I could get a guaranteed Master Artisan, with a real life phone number, pager and the willingness to be there 24/7, no question, then I could allow the Master Artisan stuff to slip, and use the economy the "way it is intended". I would love to advance further up the Pistoleer class, maybe even take up Novice CH just so I could play with the pets I hear so much about. But I'm capped, and will remain so as long as the inventory stranglehold on characters is so tight that you have to cut corners whereever possible, which means not storing crates and crates of 6 different Artisan units a smith needs to craft more complex guns.
DE need all the electronics, they would be your main Buisness. The problem is the ratio to cost with DE droids is not worth the DE Money to buy from you.
For instance A Seeker droid which a BH need to do any mission takes 2 General GP modules and 1 Electronic Memory module. Now Ive seen these go for 100 credits up a piece. A BH use to buy Seeker droids for only 200 credits. hence you see the problem now the BH dont have automatic Droid Terminals anymore. I have been charging 400 credits per. And you only get one use out of a Seeker. (this is fixed in next patch with 5 uses each). Even with 5 uses we can only really charge 1K for seekers. Hence the reason Most of us get Master Artisian.
Our Advance Droid brain takes a total of 8 Electronics to make. 4 Electronic Memory same factory crate, and 4 same GP modules from factory crate.
I tried at first not to get master Artisian. But I cant wait weeks to get the little amount I would from an Artisian. So now Im a master artisian myself. Keeps my droid cost down, and saves me a big headace.
But DE uses ever single electronic from GPs, to memory, to Control, to Energy Dispenser.
Not all DE have master Artisian. And the others just have friends that supply them with the electronics.
