I just started an artisan character so Idon't know a lot about the the crafting menus. I tried to craft a chemical survey device and on the last screen of the crafting process I saw a small checkbox near the bottom of the menu. Out of curiosity I checked it (I don't remember what it said, but it changed the Craft Item button to a Practice button). Then the textbox said my schematic went off to the crafting station. Its been a while and my Survey tool hasn't come back yet. I fear my precious resources and the time it took to get them have been wasted. Could someonetell mewhatthat checkboxisfor and what possiblyhappened to mysurvey tool? P.S. Can anyone tell me how to friggin double space on this forum?

Well, the short answer is "Yes."

That button is for practice. It allows you to make the item without making the item. It uses up the resources, but you don't get an item. You get an extra 5% XP from this practicing. It was implemented to give people a way to grind without having to delete tons of items.

As Sahnd said the short answer is yes. And as a quick tip...mine more than the minumum you need to make something. You never know when the dreaded critical failure will remind you that you are not a perfect being. You may be upset with Practice now. But on the long grind up the tree, Practice will be your best friend.
