I have tried experimenting to 25 from 15 complexity on my Wind Power Generators, Not experimenting, using crappy resources, using elite resources, using a public crafting station, private crafting station, and no crafting station to find this:

IT MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE!!!

I don't know if it's the case for other professions besides artisan but it sure isn't makin a freakin change in any of my XP. I might as well just run from POI to POI while crafting!

Just so you people know, the only thing that crafting stations are for is making something HIGHER QUALITY, and CUSTOMIZATION. It does not benefitYOU in ANY OTHER WAY.

5% bonus is from crafting in "practice" mode... it never has had anything to do with the crafting station or quality of resources used.

AynRand is absolutely correct.

When you create a prototype item, you get X amount of experience.

When you check off the "Practice" box on the last crafting screen, you get X amount of experience, plus 5%. It's a small but important bone that was thrown to take a bit of the sting out of grinding. You get a little bit of a bonus, and practice mode does not create an item, so you don't have to destroy it.

Makes a HUGE difference when you're crafting 11,000 survey tools or however many it is that you need to do.

When you make a Biological effect controler you get 35 xp. If you make the same one in practice mode you 36 xp. It works I guess but it's not that big a deal. 5% of 35 is 36.75, guess I lose .75 in the rounding off.

Wrongo Chimp!

The items that you make are dependent on the crafting station for the higher complexity items. Sure you can run from POI to POI and get the same experience for items that only require the tool, but for the master items, and many items in the 2nd and up tiers require at least a public station to even see the schematic, and anything with a complexity above (I think) 35 requires a private station.

5% may not make much of a difference wtih something that gives you 35xp, but it does help the grind for things that are high xp items.

When I was grinding to armorsmith I did not notice any extra exp on bone chest plates for experimenting. Please post your results if that has changed.

Umm... Duh?

Where'd you get the idea that experimenting gave you an XP bonus?

Must remember not to ask him for advice

Jedi will be rare and difficult - No
Increased Dev communication - No
CU will balance combat - No
Most of the bugs from launch fixed - No
saintchuck will continue to pay - No

- I supported the CURB, the Devs and the attempt to make SWG a better game and have realized it didn't work so I'm quitting in less than 2 days and won't be tricked into coming back again. Trick me once, shame on you...
