Thread: So How Do I Get Artisan XP?

if its not from people using what I've made? I'm creeping up slowly (very slowly) but I honestly cant remember an Artisan XP message.


dumb noob question I know, but then I am a dumb noob...

You will mostly get XP from MAKING things that give artisan experience (as opposed to tailor, medic, etc). You should also get a degree of XP from people using the things you make, I believe you have to be near them and online at the time for it to kick in, and I don't think you get a message about it.

Others please correct me if I'm mistaken

But you will get the bulk of your artisan XP from crafting.

Crafting doesn't give a message about "x Crafting xp earned", but you do get it. The xp earned is based on the number of resources used up, generally xp = 2 * total resources. You also get a 5% bonus if you check the "practice" box on the last window. This uses up the resources, but does not create the item in your inventory. This is perfect when grinding out low-level items that no one ever buys.


As far as usage xp, that's a bit of a mystery. For consumables like food, I know you get 50% of the original crafting xp when someone eats the last dose. I'm not sure how weapons/harvesters/armor works (or even if it does).
