Thread: Personal wind, chemical and mineral harvesters

I've placed several of them and noticed that each time i come to check on them they're not pumping or turning in the case of the wind harvester. The maintenance is paid up and they've got plenty of power in hte case of the chemical and mineral harvesters.

If they aren't seen to be pumping or turning does this mean they aren't running. I check to make sure they're turned on and they are. Is this just a graphics issue or is it actually not running at the time. I turn them off and back on and the pumping or turning graphic returns. I leave and come back a few hours later and they graphic has stopped.

Can someone tell me if the graphic is bugged or are my harvesters turning themselves off, despite having plenty of power and maintenance dues paid?

Yeah, it's just a graphics thing. If you check the hopper screen and have the white bars running up the side, it's still working for you.

It's a bug that the animations turn off after you leave the harvestor. They're still running, you just can't see it. One important thing though. On harvestors that use power the bug also affects the power remaining display. Whenever you go to your harvestors, first thing, turn it off, then back on. This resets the power remaining to the correct amount.

Thanks for the info. I've got a few more questions if anyone is interested in answering them.

1. What are good harvest rates for the personal mineral and chemical harvesters we can make as master artisans(not architect). The ones I've made were 4 for wind energy and 1 for chemical and mineral.

2. What's a good % resource number for wind. The highest I found is 41. Is that low?

For personal mineral/chem, 4 is as good as I've been able to do. 9 for wind. The best wind I've found is 68% but that will vary with resource shifts/planets.

Thanks for the responses guys. I just made master artisan yesterday so I don't really know what I'm doing but I appreciat the responses.

One other question I forgot to ask. How does the vendor thing work. Where do I get a vendor and what type can I use at master artisan. As I understand it I can only use 1 vendor.

A master Artisan can just use one vendor, I believe you have a choice of a big blocky console or a tiny bartender droid (or at least it was that way a month or so back). You go to your house's control terminal and request a vendor, it will be placed in your inventory. Place it as you would place any item of furniture, add maintenance (don't just /pay or it goes to your house) and then initialize it. Once initialized it, you can (supposedly) no longer move it, and you can start stocking it with items.
