Personal choice.

Jedi will be rare and difficult - No
Increased Dev communication - No
CU will balance combat - No
Most of the bugs from launch fixed - No
saintchuck will continue to pay - No

- I supported the CURB, the Devs and the attempt to make SWG a better game and have realized it didn't work so I'm quitting in less than 2 days and won't be tricked into coming back again. Trick me once, shame on you...

Some races have a bonus to certain types of crafting (Mon Cal for weaponsmithy, for instance).

If you're in a player city or guild, there may be a need for one particular profession.

And of course the holos may tell you to take one. Mine has me doing Master Pikeman. Just the thing for a crafter fish to do

It boils down to what you have fun providing. Some of the elites are more of a grind than others. I chose armorsmith because we didn't have much representation of it in our city -- though that has since changed.

As the other person said, do what feels right.

I agree with the other posters. It really is about what you will enjoy providing your customers or guild members. I started a character with the vision of becoming a Droid Engineer. I want to make droids and sell them. Experiment and have fun with it. Being into Star Wars for close to 30 years, the droids are the other HALF of the experience.

Choose what you would have a passion for and go for it!
