First off: Keep in mind that stat migration will take about half a week to settle out, something I didn't know to start with So if it looks like nothing happened after resetting your stats, it will take time.

That said, when I created my character I ended up with very high mind and supporting mind stats, very low health and moderate action.

What stats will work for you will depend on your race. Can't go wrong with high mind, focus and willpower though.

Something to try: start a new character on another server, with the race of your current character, as an artisan. Check the stats of the character, and set yours to that. Or, if you mix professions, try a reasonable blend.

Sorry I don't have exact numbers, I'm not home. The Prima strategy guide lists the values, for all races, that you end up with for stats when choosing the different professions at character creation.

Good luck.

A second big thing to remember is the profession you will be climbing up. For artisans sampling all over the place, it is important to have a big action pool and a high regeneration rate for that pool. Otherwise you'll be sitting a lot more to bring it back up. Medics use their mind pool and of course combat professions get hit a lot in their health pool. I've recently noticed that a scout's action pool really drops when throwing a lot of traps, so that may be something to consider as well.

As said, I keep my mind pool regeneration high because this cannot be brought up artificially my a stimpack. Even if you have a medic healing everyone during battle, your mind will continue to drop after so many hits. If your regeneration is high for mind, you'll last much longer.
