Thread: Having a problem with depositing power
This stupid bug has been going on for a month or two now.
Basically, the status window is calculating the remaining power incorrectly, so it drops twice as fast as its supposed. Fortunately, the internal workings of the harvester knows how much it *really* has, so it doesn't stop when the status window shows zero. However, this means that as far as the status window is concerned, you have negative power.
"Self", says the status window to itself, "Having negative power is silly. Only show a zero".
"Ok", says the status window.
{hey, it's sitting out there sucking flora out of the ground for you, you never visit unless you want something, so it talks to itself}
Now, you deposit 2000 power. Let's say you reall have 1000 power, but the status window thought you had -3000 power. Now the status window brilliantly adds 2000 to -3000 and gets...-1000. It goes through the same conversation as above (leaving the power reserves at 0), thus trying to convince you that 0 + 2000 = 0.
The workaround is to stop and restart the harvester. This has the smarter extraction module smack the status window, saying "Hey, I had 1000 power here, this guy gave me 2000 more, show 3000 you poor excuse for a dialog box."
And it does.
A rousing round of applause and a big 5-star, sciguy...absolutely the best explanation I've seen to date! ![]()
Just slam that macro whenever you come up to your harvs and they'll be displaying the right value.
