So I have been mining resources and one of the more popular ones has been “ore” (of all shapes and sizes). I have generally looked for resources with a high overall quality, but recently I ran into a vein of ore as follows:
Quadtribimiaris, Katrium Intrusive Ore
CR=924, DR=900, HR=988, MA=595, OQ=118, SR=964, UT=985
I was hesitant to mine it because of its low OQ, but the 5 other stats were over 900 so it was irresistible to not take a shot at it.
The question is; does this ore have a value or am I wasting my time?
I do not even know what people use ore for, but I have never had a problem selling it. So can anyone tell me if this is a good batch of ore? Should I charge a premium price for it because of the 5 stats over 900?
Any help would be appreciated as I am still relatively new to this and do not know the effects the OQ have on the crafting versus the other stats.
Thanks,
The “Ick”

Ore tends to sell fast to Architects and they need tons of the stuff, even low quality is useful to them as it can be used in the walls they make as a subcomponent to other items they make. Furthermore OQ isn't that important to them as they look for UT/SR/HR/Mall. So that ore should be worth something to them.

Yeah Unit Toughness and Heat Resistance and Shock Resistance is very important when making quality harvesters. I'm sometimes glad I'm a Droid Engineer. We only have to worry about Conductivity, and that's usually just in modules.

OQ is a completely independant resource stat, it's not some sort of combination of the other stats(which is kind of obvious with that ore).
You can check what items use a specific resource type by going to swgcraft.com and clicking their "resource usage" link on the left. This will only bring up a list of items using whatever you picked, not more general classes. So selecting "Intrusive Ore" won't show you any that just require generic "ore" (although you can select that from the list, too). You can click on the schematics, and the majority of them will have the "Experimental properties" which shows you what stats are important for that item, and with what weighting.
Now, having said that, I checked out what uses Intrusive Ore. You might make a good profit selling these to armorsmiths, since it looks like Composite segments uses that resource. The encumberance is based 50/50 on Malleability and OQ, so your low numbers there might be a problem. The effectiveness depends 50% on OQ too, so maybe it's not so good.
I guess architects would be your best customer, since most of the schematics I've seen for them depend mainly on UT, SR, and HR, which you've got covered. Someone would probably be able to make a pretty good heavy harvester or fusion generator with that ore.
