Hello ,

Im visiting from the BE board's where I started a thread about Vendors. I am crafting and dumping pets on the public bazaar and have been doing so for some time. I am down to NO SKILL POINTS...well maybe 1. I Mastered Medic , but have been dumping skills to work my way up to Master BE . I dump the skill onlt till I really need the points naturally.

So my problem is this. I really need a Vendor. I am just now learning that it is possible ( ? ) to grind Artisian , Business III , establish a Vendor , then dump Artisian and still have the Vendor. The fact that I am jsut now finding this information has me very displeased....Not even my guild mates have suggested this possiblity.

Now someone in my other thread has stated that its an exploit.....????? And it won't be around much longer.

Is there a DEV out there that can comment on this? I have not Macro'd my way up BE like some people have. That means I have spent alot of time learning about sampling and crafting. I am very frustrated right now........

It's actually worse than you think. You can train all the way up to Master Merchant, place a tent, fill it with vendors, then drop Merchant altogether. The vendors and tent continue to function. It seems the skills are only for placing your vendors initially -- there's no check upon loss of the skill to confirm you can continue to operate the vendors or the tent.

Party is over,

I suggest you make nice with a master merchant and have them sell for you.

A well established merchant will probably be able to move more volume for you too

Yes you can drop merchant and keep your vendor, but this is a bug that the Dev's have said will be fixed soon.

Ok here is the deal from a Master Merchant, so listen.

You CAN dump the skill. You do keep the Vendor and it still runs. HOWEVER, you cannot put additional items on the Vendor. You cannot put maintenance in. You will still get the money from the sales, but the only thing you can do is remove the vendor.

And YES, to the pleasure of all us Merchants that have been abused by the other professions with this exploit, they are fixing it like it is supposed to be. If you drop Pistols 4 you lose Health Shot 1. If you drop Droid Blueprints 4 you can no longer make BLL Chassis. So, it makes perfect sense that if you drop a Merchant skill, you lose the ability to have that vendor.
