As I gain engineering levels, I cam make more stuff.... the schematics fir these seem to 'appear' ... is it possible to find / make schematics for other stuff?
cheers!

There are a few lootable schematics added with this new publish, but I think they all require skills in an elite crafting class. There's a few new weapons (scythe, "light weight FWG") that requirement a certain level of weaponsmith skill, RIS armor has been in for a couple months, tailors can make clothing with built-in bonuses (not requiring tapes or BE tissues), etc. Most of these appear to require looted components, though: "Heavy leather" and "Heavy duty clasps" for new clothing, some Geonosian pieces for weapons, all kinds of weird stuff for RIS.
Oh, the "shellfish/mollusk survey tool" only requires some Engineering, I think. If you want to try this out, the simplest way to get it seems to be taking a couple quests from an NPC under the bridge in Anchorhead.
These schematics aren't "needed", but do provide some variety from the standard ones that every crafter gets.

Thankyou, great reply... erm.. what are 'Tapes'
Also, do you need all the skills under Master Artisan to be a MA? or do only need some of them?

To master any profession you do need to have all the skills underneath.
Tapes come in different tyoes. They give a skill bonus to clothes. The ones you're probably talking about are + Experimentation tapes. For example, a Master Weaponsmith has +100 weapon experimentation and therefore has 10 experiment boxes to work with. But if he gets enough + Weaponsmith Experimentation tapes to have +110 weapon experimentation, he has 11 experiment boxes to work with.

Clothing Attachments ("tapes") and Armor Attachments("plates") are dropped loot that have skill bonuses, sometimes very impressive ones. They can be put into clothing or armor with open sockets, making your outfit improve your skills. They are put into already-crafted clothing/armor, as opposed to "segments","scales"or BE-crafted tissues, which get included during the creation of the item.
Right now, you can't put two attachments boosting the same skill into the same piece of clothing (we're not sure if this is a bug or intended). There's also a problem with attachments that have multiple skill bonuses, only one ends up on the clothing (this has to be a bug). The largest bonus you can get from attachments is a total of +25 (which can be spread across several pieces of clothing).
To become "Master Anything" requires training up all boxes underneath it, plus getting 620 apprentice xp (earned when you train a skill to another player). However, not all elite classes require mastering lower-level professions. To become a weaponsmith/architect/Droid engineer, you only need to train up to Engineering IV. To become a Creature Handler you only need the "Hunting" and "Exploration" columns of scout. There are professions that do require mastering the lower professions: Bounty Hunter requires Master Scout and Master Marksman, Doctor requires Master Medic.
