Thread: Craftable disks or similar?
I didn't know where to put this idea, but I thought this would be a good place since artisans are likely the most creative class. Also, I did a quick search and didn't find similar topics, so..
I think it'd be great to see a craftable item, such as a disk, that acts basically like a text file. Disks are the items that accomplish this goal, but of course are not craftable. Here are some ideas on the possible uses of a disk - newsletters, magazines, guides, directory of information (e.g. list of vendors, guild members),journals, historical records
Wouldn't it be nice to have a disk, or other object, in a hall or museum that explains a guild's history, or a museum's purpose? A wall of disks could be like a hall of records or community notice board, or a desk of disks could hold commonly referred-to information.
A disk could also save a waypoint related to the information it contains as Treasure Map disks do. Objects that act like signs oras a labels could be replaced with a disk to give more information (though a sign or plaque object would better suit the job than a disk). I think the fact that disks already exist in the game would make this an easy addition.
As atext information object, the possibilities are endless. Hope this is a good idea..
ewps, here's a link with a similar idea posted months ago
