Thread: Do i need skill in Surveying for Harvesters?

Hello,
Plain and Simple,
Do i need to have skill in Surveying to set up Harvesters to harvest Resources, or will i only be able to harvest basic resources since i only have Surveying 1?

You don't need any skill at all to use Harvesters. Novice Artisan isn't even needed. The catch is, you won't know where to place them unless somebody tells you if you can't survey...

Simple Method for Surveying:
Just place your harvestors near someone elses.
When you activate your harvestor it will tell you the concentrations of the various minerals at that spot. You can then select which resource has the max concentration and go to work.
The obvious problem is you won't be able to know the type of mineral, chem, etc until you plant your harvestor.
Another good solution is to place an ad in the galaxy forum looking to hire a surveyor to find mineral for you.
I have an artisan alt and would do this.
