It does take up a lot. But if he didnt your best bet is to go into CTRL-H and open a ticket on it.

I've created a new character on the bria server and noticed that it only has 9 available lots to build on instead of the standard 10. I noticed this with another character that I had several weeks ago with a different character that I have since deleted. Any idea how I can correct this?

Probably the sub. I was stuck on that 9 lot thing for a bit too.... The sub shouldn't really take up a lot in my opinion. It's nice to have, but is it worth knocking off a harvester?

Well, I understand them making it take a lot since you can decorate it and treat it like a house.

Yep, it was the sorosub. Wish I knew beforehand but oh well. And you can't redeed it. If I destroy it can I go back and use the /claimveteranreward command to get it back later if I want?

ok, putting it in the bank doesn't recover the missing lot and it wont allow me to redeed the ship so again the question I have is if I choose to destroy it, can I use the /claimveteranreward command to get it back again if I decide later that I'd like to have it or is it destroyed forever?

Don't destroy the deed itself. Put that in the bank. Destroy the actual ship from your datapad. That should bring back your lot. Then when you want another Sub just get the deed from the bank and generate a new one.
PS. Make sure you didn't place anything inside the Yacht before you destroy it.

You can't put it in your backpack but you can put it in your bank.
