1) If I find a 95% deposit, but there's a harvester right next to it, will the harvester affect the amount that I can sample?

2) Is there a method of knowing where a good deposit is likely to turn up, other than just pulling the survey tool out randomly? I haven't seen a pattern yet.

3) Does experimentation increase the amount of XP I get from crafting an item?

4) Does crafting a more complex item generate more XP than a less complex item?

5) Are certain planets better for finding certain resources? As an example, I can't seem to find an ore deposit above 59% within 3k of Mos Eisley - is it going to be like that all over Tatooine?

I think I already know the answers to all my questions (no for everything), but I just wanna be sure, and I don't remember seeing them in any Artisan FAQs

I've posted my questions in the FAQ thread, as that seems like a better place to ask. I'd delete this post if I knew how, but I can't find any option to get rid of it or even edit it. :s

1) No, 95% should be 95%. As far as sampling success, though, I don't think anyone has actually tested, but I don't see any reason for the sample action to take into account harvesters around your character.

2) Not really. Although some areas of some planets do seem to have certain resources more regularly. For example, you can almost always find a vein of radioactive east of Kaadara, although the actual percentages do change from shift to shift.

3) No.

4) Not really. The amount of xp is determined by the number of resources used up in the item. A simple item using up a lot of resources gives more xp than a complex item with fewer resources. Although the tendency is for more complicated items to require more resources, it's not always true. And subcomponents aren't included in the xp calculation, so the fastest route to gain xp is usually to make simpler items without subcomponents.

5) Not that I've found. Ore almost never has a concentration above 60%, no matter what planet I've checked. Not all planets get all mineral resource types in a given shift, but Tertian Siliclastic Ore (for example) is just as likely to show up on Tatooine as Yavin.

I see that Guru already beat me to your questions in the FAQ so I won't bother to answer those again. As far as deleting or editing a post goes you're out of luck for now.

The only people with the authority to lock or delete posts are forum moderators, so not even Guru can help you there. Typically the only posts that get deleted are posts that are deemed offensive or in violation of the forum guidelines (profanity, political or religious comments, etc.)

The ability to edit a post is not granted until you've been a member of the forum community for a few months or until you've been a member for one month and made 50 posts or more. So it looks like you've got about 3 days before you gain the ability to edit your posts.

Here's a link explaining all of the forum titles if you're interested.
