I'm having problems getting apprentice points. Now I'm not completely through, and just waiting to get master lvl, but I feel that it's harder now to get them, because there are less people that are new and especially in our profession. Could anyone suggest ideas for me? Should I wait till I get through with my lvls and then just hunt down app. xp? Or should SWG Team figure out a way for us, if you can't getapp. pointsand teach them on, that you could buy them?

I was also afraid that i wasnt going to get enough ap xp, but I did get it. I have some extra points which i will use for more than one masters in a profesion.

Just set up a macro listing all the skills you have in all the profesions you have and to send you atell. When in a city use the macro every now and thensnd someone will ask. Personally I never charge for teaching. If I get tipped 98% of the time i will return it. Only take it if I really need it. Also go to noob cities.Ive got skills in medic, entertainer, CH, Brawler, scoutt and marksman. Also use a title that will probably guarantee more xp. For example most of my xp comes from scoutting skills, so I wear a hunter title. there is always someone looking for some learning in this branch.

If you are not close to mastering the skill yet, then do not feel preasured youll get it. Problem comes when you are about to master 2 and you dont have AP for both. That might take a while.

While it seems hard to get AP lately, there is still plenty to get around. Especially now that the holocrons are telling people to change profesions.

Good luck!

PS-If you are in sunrunner send me a tell maybe there is a skill you can teach me. Ill be more than glad to help with your xp. Sometimes I just take a skill even if i dont want it just to help. I can always drop it later.

I have returned to the game after quite a hiatus and while spending most of the day working on Surveying 3 and 4 I started poking around the skills charts. Is it just a different display or did they get rid of apprentice xp? I recall before when I could see the required amount but now it is blank...is it changed or am I just going crazy?

One of the best things I've heard then...I never really understood the whole purpose of it anyways

Who says it's an either-or question? Truth be told, having to spend SOME AP for Master seemed better ... it seems a bit hard to get people to train you these days.

Habit, I suppose ... it seems a waste, plus that used to deprive people of AP they really needed.

Hehe, I remember those days too. I actually would ask for a bit below what the npc trainers also. People did like that extra cash .

I usually tipped 10%. Never had any money back then.

I think the AP system was a big help at release, encouraging everyone to work together. Once the game matured, it became an annoyance for the veterans (assuming they even needed it) and a stumbling block for the new players.

Take a look at Alcen. I ground through plenty of classes during the hologrind, buying most of the skills and trading AP with a guildmate when I needed it. Before and after the hologrind, I sat at 1240 AP.

I think the best part is comparing the early days, when you would tip a fraction of the actual training cost to be trained by another player, and the hologrind, where people would pay you five times the training cost to train you for AP.

I think they should have replaced the AP with a quest of some sort. Collect resources A, B, C and D to make item X. Maybe something similar to the FS doctor quest in the village. Basically you have to have different quality resources to make variations of the same item. So to get item X with a quality of 50% and say Electrical Conductivity of 80% you need to find the right combination of resources to make that 50% and so on and so forth. But increasing quality decreases EC or something like that. It's just an example but something that would be cool to do to get your master profession.
