What do you charge/pay to get good resource waypoints? This is a very important question for me to get answered. I am part of a resource mining team on Wanderhome and lately we've been having trouble getting someone reliable to get waypoints for us on a regular basis. Trying to figure out some kind of incentive that would get/keep someone interested long term. Currently we a few hundred thousand credits. We don't have a set price structure and I'm wondering if anyone does.

I wasa paid surveyor on-and-off for the past year, and typically I was paid between 100k and 500k depending on the scope of the survey, expected %, and quantity oflocations. Pre-JTL I also expected my travel to be paid, and if I was going to Dath I'd insist on being provided with an extra swoop (damned NS )

I guess a lot depends on what you expect from your surveyor. Many employers I worked for had escalating demands, both in terms of time and effort, not to mention expediency. What Ilearned after a while of doing this however was thatI wasn'treallyhavingfun. I found I was dedicating all my playtime to make a fair sum of credits, but deriving no enjoyment from the game. I didn't need another job, I wanted some fun. Sometimes it's not about making the cash, and I know of many professional surveyors who stopped for this very reason. At present I survey for myself, and freely pass the waypoint along to anybody who wants them...I suspect this is true of a lot of the surveying crowd.

yeah and most of the time you can only find a good place to lay harvs for around 5-10 of them so if you have 5 or 6 people it can take a lot of time. i think 100k/hour wouldn't be a bad price (considering you can get 120k if you do 10 missions at about 5 min each). it only takes about an 30 minutes to find a place to lay about 10 harvs at about 65-75%, 45 for anything above 75%, and 15 min for anything below 65 (these are hardly ever taken by the people who first find the resource).

I mastered the survey 4 column first in artisan, so while I was running around with the "master surveyor" title or something like that I got offered a gig for surveying.

One doctor paid me 90 K, plus a free buff, plus some vasarian brandy to find a lokian wild wheat spot. I would have done it for less, but I thinik the doctor knew I was a noob and was charitable. Turned out we didn't get ambushed by kimoglias, found a spot close to the starport, so didn't need the buff after all, but used it to gotry outunarmed combat.

Usually I get offered 100 K to find a spot 70 % or above. Ores are a particular problem, one good ore on correlia didn't spawn over 59 %. I had one gig where the customer actually expected to get a spot over 90 %; next time I turn that down up front. That was just an unrealistic expectation. On the other hand, getting a bonus to find a great spot is OK. I found this beautiful flat spot on the yavin 4 beaches for a chemical once, flat ground from 80-92%. It's that kind of success that makes some of the less successful trips endurable.

Doubt I could get 500 K. Someone would have to have a lot of harvesters to make that worth their while. Plus the resource would have to be worth a lot; and I think sometimes the priceless resources won't be 'priceless' for awhile. For instance, there was a 999 OQ old polymer on eclipse selling for 20 cpu on vendors. Then along comes a 1000 OQ polymer. The trade forums had multiple mining contracts for 3-4 cpu. Now eventually, that perfect polymer may be worth much more than 3 cpu, but not till it's been out of shift for awhile, and more scarce. It would be a big investment for the future to pay the surveyor 500 K.

Dont be too hasty. If that ore was "Fermionic Siliclastic Ore", then concentrations could break 90%. JTL resources are funny that way.
