Hello You all,
anyone got any suggestions for grinding the surveying line of Artisan. Any faster way to do it instead of the usual way and anyone got any decent macros? thanks

check out the thread called "yelp" on the first page here. I posted a macro for surveying in it. just find a good spot (70%+) of anything cept radiactive and swithc the macro on

In TC there is an 87% spot of polymer in Mos eisley, macro times work differently there, I am trying to remember the macro i came up with.
First you obviously survey using a chme sureveyer for the girdt of the 2 polymers. Stay near the shuttleport so you do not get aggro'd byJabba's henchmen
macro name: sample
choose a pic but not one you use elsewhere (dump entertainer n use theres to be safe)
/sample;
/pause5;
/sit;
/pause 17;
/stand;
/pause 2;
/macro sample;
Then go to bed
Shove it in your tool bar n you are good to go. for all grinding i have found a minimum of a 2 sec pause between macro elements prevent a you are already... message even in the busier towns. This also means you o not have to worry about the there is a resource x disance from here, that sample gets cancelled without xp but you get to carry on sampling afk.

I use this variation, just finished Survey 4 yesterday:
/stand (cause me to stand, preventing "cannot do action in current state" error)
/pause 3;
/maskScent; (Scout command, may help prevent being munched by angry durni)
/pause 3; (same as Ambiguous' tip, prevents errors)
/survey; (Surveys, the 150 pause lets me survey for the 150 game seconds)
/pause 150;
/sit; (effectively stops survey)
/pause 50; (HAM recovery time)
/stand; (another sequence step)
/pause 3;
/forage; (I'm a scout too, so i threw that in to get a few scout xp...didn't find much, but it hever hurts to try)
/ui action toolbarSelect03; (placed macro in tolbar position 4, change to fit your chosen slot (00=1, 01=2, etc)
change survey pause and ham pause to maximize HAM usage (so you don't deplete HAM too quick, allow enough time to fully recover bettween survey attempts)
Also, I named my macro "dig", because I think /sample is a command, i didn't want any conflicts. (have not verified that yet, never hurts to pan ahead)

Something I found out about a month ago when I grinded surveying was that XP caps have been placed that will prevent you from going more then one box in the tree without training. You will cap at about half of what's need for the second box, so starting it and letting it run while you sleep is no more.
Also I found is that you will need to name your macro...."survey" or something.... and in the last line of the macro should say ... /macro survey .... instead of "/ui action toolbarSelect03;"
Get an action & quickness buff and you'll be able to grind out all of surveying in about 4 hours if you stop to train each box when ready. May need to adjust your times to suit your needs and/or if you buff or not.
Here is what I used with aa action/quickness buff:
/sample;
/pause 7;
/sit;
/pause 24;
/stand;
/pause 2;
/macro sampling;
I named the macro sampling and placed it on the toolbar (but not required) and first surveyed for the highest % of a resource in a safe area. And since I have a second PC available, I started my alt on that PC, run the macro and went to my main gaming PC and played on my main character during this time.
