Thread: Question on 30k Resource and Self Powered Harvester Vet rewards...

The 30K resource kit allows anyone to get well, 30K of ANY single resource that has ever spawned on the server... that's right.. ANY... even the UBER ones that are nearly 2 years old that no one seems to have found... These sell for 3-3.5 mil on my server.. rarely have i seen it get any higher...
Ohhh! Well that makes sense then. I think I'll save the 30k Resourses for later.
Thanks for the advice and perspective on the Self Powered Harvester reward. I think the 750k to get me started is the way I'm going to go. Sounds like just one Self Powered won't be much of a benefit since I'll have to get power for all the rest anyway.
Thanks.

The Self powered harv kit to me is great if you do a lot of harvesting... but to really make it worth it, you'd need enough to cover all of your harvesters at any one time. I have 18 of these (acquired through my trade forum), and with 2 toons, i am able to plop down 17 harvesters without worrying about power for my harvesters...
But, the problem with these is exactly that.. 750K for just ONE, whereas if you bought a fusion, (BER14 for eg - runs about 100K on my server), harvested your own power (say 70% concentration)... (Spend 75k/hr (1800/day) and get 14K/day power) at (i think 60 power/hr=1440/day)... So you spend 365 x 1800 = 657K to get the power for ONE year... (this is all relative and approximates of course).. in one year, you would harvest 5.11Million units of power. (assuming a 1:1 PE conversion)... Also, in one year a single harvester (all referring to heavies btw), uses 525K of power... Yeah, i have too much time in my hands.. LOL..
Is it worth it to have lots of these and never worry about power (if you have the cash to do it), or just harvest/buy your own power which can last a long time...

I really thought about it, and to me the convenience was important to me...
As you are just starting out, perhaps getting some quick starting cash by selling the 2 would be good.. you could easily buy 1 fusion power generator, plop it down and have enough power to handle 9 lots to last for a long while) and spend less than 750K for that...
To me, getting that initial 750K to buy some harvies and get going is a good idea.. you can always (once you have enough credits) to go and buy them back...
Good luck!
I was gonna say that.
