Thread: Slicing Vehicles
As it would just turn into another spam /shout outside the starports.
So i'm actually hoping they never put this option in. Or restrict it to only our own vehicles that we hold in our datapad. If we sell those, the slice goes away too.
Geeze Slug! Did someone burn yer turkey? You're awfully chipper today. No we didn't get our overhaul, but locked containers are flagged if they can't be sliced, which solves some problems. The spice incapp fix is in this patch, which rules. And if we can confirm the damage mitigation for melee is actually in and just not in the skill tree that rules, because a little extra combat defense would be nice. All in all, considering this isn't the profession revamp this isn't bad for smugglers, and more than we've gotten in a while. I admit it's not the big profession report we've been expecting for what two? three weeks now? I'm as anxious as anyone to see that, but you gotta take the bad with the good.

And tangently-related: how about a repair kit for my gawdawful expensive AV-21? I'm afraid to use it for fear of it becoming disabled !!!

yep, that would be SUPER - i traded one of mine in as part-exhange for a - repairable - BARC
i then went and got two badges, immediately - i was thrilled till a guildie pointed out that hardly anyone ever uses the race tracks anymore ![]()
i (and i'm sure others) have said it in other threads that they should have always made the speeders/swoops craftable by component - like weapons, food, armour and basically anything other semi-complex item, so that each one was slightly different and was a reflection of the skill and resources of the crafter. this would allow for customised hot-rods, and would actually make the ingame race-tracks a valid contest, rather than who gets away quicker from the droid (and he should be doing a countdown, dagnabbit, not telling each individual to just go) - a faster bike might handle less well, might have less hitpoints, or whatever.
so anyway, the point of this is that it's not too late to introduce this -it would be easy enough to add 'customisation' to each vehicle and let artisans with the engineering tree 'slice' them to add to speed, handling, hit-points or whatever, and even introduce a system similar to the new slicing system wherein you need certain looted components to add the highest level of customisation to the individual.
feedback requested.
(and yes, i know it'll likely never happen so please avoid telling me the obvious like "SOE will never introduce this" or worse, "this is illegal in the timeline, they'll never do it", let a launch-day player have his little dreams, ok?)
