Thread: Does the Contol Unit make any difference for the repair tools?

I am now a Master Artisan, i can make the control unit and other such fun toys that are needed in other things, but i haven't seen any reason why it is a optional thing int eh repair tools, they show no stats. Has anyone tried using one with a unit put in? Does it reduce the amount of durablility by a smaller amount?

Hey devs? why is there stuff added and no stats or explination on what it exaclty does for an object. Don't leave me hanging here.

Don't know. They also figure into crafting stations.

And even if you do add it, there is no way to tell from the final component whether it is there or not. For all the buyer knows, you put in all the optional components. How do you know if one crafting station is any better than the next? How do you compare?

With these components, much like survey and crafting tools, experimentation effect is ambiguous. Is my 21/86 experimented stats control unit any better than my 7/55? I put (junk) components into a Micro Sensor Suite and experimented them to the exact same specs as one in which I used my primo results.

My current theory is that regardless of experimentation, unless the item has a stat that demonstrates it, they are exactly the same. I REALLY hope I'm wrong here.

I too would like an answer. I don't want to waste my best resources if it doesn't matter anyway.

If we do get a DEV to look at this, tell us what a Nemoidian Bird Cage does too, will ya?

I was wondering about this as well. In fact, this is why I've been reading posts here today. Does someone (even someone not being a dev) have an answer?

Also, does the optional Droid Storage Compartment help?

I can't see any difference in using the optional components on a repair tool. I can experiment the tool up just as high without the optionals and a couple sample repairs didn't seem to make a difference. From what I can tell, don't bother with the optionals for repair tools... does anyone know any different?

This is my number one issue as an artisan at this time. As I've said in previous threads, I really don't care whether it's broken or not, just please please tell me so I'm not wasting time/resources on something that makes absolutely no difference.

An excellent question, no one knows. I do aggree that this is more important than say, broken waypoints that isn't meaningful even if it did work since you need to know the percent of the resource as well as the direction of increasing resource. All that information is given in the survey tool already.

There's supposed to be some fixes for this in the big publish coming our way, but as of today, it doesn't seem to make a difference, so I stopped putting them in

Optional components absolutely have no effect on experimentation or the effectiveness rating of the end product. Additionally, I have made and used a ton of repair tools and I have not seen any evidence to suggest that repair tools with optional components work any better or worse than those without.

The repair tools are just as effective without the optional components too. The functionality rating is the only thing that seems to matter and it doesn't go up with components added. I stopped using them too because you can't tell they are in there and it makes no difference why spend the time and resources on it?

Option componets on the repair tools and crafting stations do not effect the final product, yet. This may or may not be fixed if the devs dont know.
