How much crafting exp do you all get from things with a complexity of 11? or 12 or something around there?

xp is based only on the amount of ressources used to make the item, 2x the ressources plus 5% practice bonus.

Hm. . . Cool! So If I use 50 units of rescorses I get 50 exp? No wonder I was gaining general exp so slowly lol.

Actually if you use 50 resources you should get 100 experience points. With practice it would be 105. This varies based on some internal setting. For example Wastril Bread uses 45 resources so it should, with practice, give 94 experience. In reality it's 78 if my memory is working correctly. Kiwik Clusjo Swirl (where do they get these names?) uses 80 resources so it should be 168. Instead it's 178 (woo hoo!).

So initially go with the 2X resource as a guide line, but check after making one to make sure that calculation is actually right.

i believe complexity weighs in slightly on exp gained, but it's a very small amount unless you're grinding out lots of items. from my calculations in weaponsmithing, i gained 2.07 xp per unit resource on a complexity 5 item, while i made 2.25 xp per unit resource on a 21 complexity item.

...more on this later. there are other factors to consider that may have a bearing on xp/resource (like, 21 complexity item has more slots and uses 2 different classes of resource, while 5 complexity item has 2 slots that use the same type/class of resource.)

I haven't seen anyone mention complexity being part of the experience equation. Though thinking about it I've never seen anyone give a "definite" answer to how experience points are figured out beyond the rough "2X resource" thing.

But experimenting to a higher complexity does nothing for the number of experience points.

I think it would be very interesting if the final experience points gained werebased on the products final complexity. Of course then crafters with skills that give experimentation points would be able to craft more complex objects and get to master fastest. So everyone would just rush after the skills that provide experimenation bonuses.

I have a question about the OTHER type of crafting XP you get ... when someone uses the item you have build (especially any kind of tool). It seems to me that you get somewhere around 1% of the XP he gets himself, to a minimum of 1 per item made.

Has anyone looked into this and uncovered some hard facts about that ?

Have fun,

2X resources is the xp standard for virtually everything we make, although I seem to recall that a few items had higher multipliers.

Weapon powerups USED to have a 4X multiplier, but that was changed. Camps give a VERY high multiplier, I believe, something like 5X.

Practice mode is currently giving *no* xp benefit, as of this morning on Kauri, at least for practicing on droid components.

Oh, and complexity has two effects:

First, highercomplexity items require specialized crafting stations and tools.

Second, the time it takes to craft the item (by hand OR in a factory) is directly determined by the complexity of said item.

Thank you every one!
