I was wondering if someone could shed some light on the extraction rate for harvestors. I have surveyed for some dullaroy steel and located an 81% resource. When I normally sample with my character, ill pull the 6-9 units of that resource.

Now, I just placed two mineral harvestors (one used before and a brand new one I purchased) on the location and for some reason the maximum amount that it lists 1 KG/H. Does that sound a little weird to anyone? One of the harvestors that I used before listed 8 KG/H harvesting somewhere else (of another mineral) before the last resource shift.

Every harvester has a "spec rate" that's determined by the experimentation done on it by the architect (or artisan, if it's a personal sized one). This is sometimes refered to as the "Base Extraction Rate", or BER, and tells you how many units that harvester would extract per minute on a 100% concentration. Personals havea max rate of 4, mediums 10, and heavies 13. The actual rate they extract is calculated by multiplying the spec rate by the concentration. So a max personal on an 81% spot would extract 4 * 0.81 = 3.24 units per minute.

It sounds like you might have picked the wrong resource from the resource list (so it's not actually getting the resource that has the 81% concentration) or you've got an unexperimented personal (they usually start with a rate of 2 before experimentation). On the "Operate machinery" window you can see the resource the harvester is set to, it's concentration, the spec rate, and the actual rate. What is that showing?

It is the correct resource because I still am miningthe Duralloy Steeleven though its going a slow 1 KG/H and comapring the resource to the one's I'm sampling. I'm thinking about movingmy harvestorsand finding another spot to get this resource. Maybe its a bug... Wouldn't be the first time in this game I guess. Thanks for the input though.

Are you sure you don't just have a BER 1 harvester? Don't move to another spot. If your survey tool says 80%, it's 80%. Get a better harvester.
